Just watched a 7 min video and was yawning by the end of it. He has a few tricks but no end product and time and after time he was easily dispossessed by the opposition.

He's a youth prospect, not somebody who could walk into the first team. He would develop strength and end product as he grows.

If true, I'd be surprised if that bid is successful. The kid can only improve from here, we've offered half his release fee, and they can't need money too desperately after selling Beñat. Fingers crossed though...

Did you see how cheap Beñat went for?

I think when you look at the "Cristiano Ronaldo" comparisons a lot of those come from about 2 years ago. Vadillo was a 16 year old seemingly ready to make his debut and really announce himself to Spanish football. However, he suffered a torn ACL against Real Madrid when Sergio Ramos went in on a hard challenge.

So, while this did happen about 2 years ago, you would expect him to have recovered some of that lost ability that's going to naturally occur in formative years when faced with a lengthy layoff. However, when you watch him he really struggles to maintain possession. I think he's got some big talent and as others have mentioned he's not a player that would waltz into the First XI, but he's still got a long way to go and as I mentioned earlier he still might be 2 seasons of loan spells away from really being a contributor for a squad on our level. The good thing about that is he is only 18 and for a guy to be ready to contribute for us at the geriatric age of 20 is still pretty impressive.

I think it's cool that a lot of the professional scouts on this board have sussed him out as a nothing player despite all the clubs who rate him extremely highly.

I will freely admit that I have no familiarity with him outside of what I've read and vague attempts to sign him on the cheap in Football Manager, but this is a young man who even despite his injury (an injury that a lot of people suffer and come back from, especially at a young age) has been linked with a host of top clubs. Many of these clubs, in fact, are better than us. Maybe, maybe, they've watched him independently of a youtube highlights video, and have rated him accordingly.

The part I find funny is everyone who watches the youtube clips of him playing against Barcelona, Real Madrid, and other top spanish teams think he looks average, which he does. Yet somehow Halilovic playing in the Croatian league is amazing...I'd like to see how Halilovic does playing against Barca.

Alvaro might be lacking now in some departments but he is a prospect. I think Spurs need to bring in a few of these 16-19 years old prospect in this window, so that some will be qualified as homegrown in the future. Some will eventually be a first teamer in Spurs squad. To sustain its challenge at the top over the next 4-7 years, these young prospects (Luongo, Pritchard, Veljkovic, Mcevoy, Coulthirst) will be important for Spurs. Well, i believe strongly that Spurs will not invest in this scale anymore at least 2-3 years after the completion of the stadium. Maybe this is the only one off, coz if the business and footballing plan works, there is not a need to do this anymore. I believe next year, Spurs would just bring in the odd one or 2 quality players in. Senior players will be sold at a premium and some of these prospects will take their place. The cycle will continue and this would make a sustainable business and footballing model for years to come

Falque showed more quality and end product than this kid in loan last season in Spain

Think I would pass and get a player in for now, not wait and see on. This kid in 2-3 years time

While i agree that Falque did quite well and is a good player, we must remember that he is already 23 years old this year. So in terms of potential Vadillo has more upside being 4.5 years younger. Vadillo is much taller too, so he is more of AVB blueprint of a player (see the sizes of the players who came in). Also Vadillo would be a free pick now, while Falque wouldn't. Not that i think he is ready to challenge the first 11. Free picks player is important for options. Lamela and Eriksen are both free picks too, if i remember correctly.

But i really like Falque as a player. I hope he increases his mass and muscle. I hope he would do very well in Vallecano.

Falque wasn't even in the same league...plus he's 5 years older.

Okay. And in regards to Vadillo, we might be Able to get him for around 10M as Betis are in administration. # oneforthefuture

What! Someone alert Levy and Baldini. :D

Even if administrators have taken charge of the clubs finances I think they would expect to get more than 10m (euros or pounds).

But even if it is higher than £10m but less than £17m I think we should then attempt to sign him now but make it so that he is loaned back to Betis for the season (at least) or make it that the transfer goes through at the end of the season.
