Ade = big upgrade on forwards

Parker and Friedel = big downgrade on Palacios and Gomes.

By my math I make it a poor window.

Our biggest win in recent histoey = AC Milan away

Our two star performers = Gomes and Palacios

What have Friedel and Parker done in their combined 30 years of football = Nothing of note

Awful business.

Stop talking wet. Could maybe find some points to support Gomes > friedel but palacios has been shocking since the tragedy.

Adebayor gets injured our tower of cards comes falling down.

This is my big concern. If Adebayor isn't playing our team looks weak again regardless of who's in midfield.

If we'd signed a striker who can play the Adebayor role more than just adequately, would he have been happy sitting on the bench? In fact, if he'd been good enough to step into Adebayor's boots, would there have been any point in signing Adebayor?

Remember what happened when we signed Mido as back-up for Berbatov?

I cannot believe people are saying we have had an excellent window. We have pretty much stood still while our rivals have strengthened big time (except Arsenal). Even Stoke will be a threat to us now, we wont get close to the top 4 especially with Liverpool looking so strong now. Its not been a disasterous window but I really wouldnt call it excellent.

lol stoke dont have a great squad, its pretty limited , they only have two wingers with pace and thats it with some big guys up front and tacklers in the middle. It suits teh style they play but it will never look good and wont get them high up the league .

Spurs on the other hand have strengthened the first 11 , we still have a great amount of quality squad players and also have offloaded some fringe players off the wage bill .

The balance is difficult agreed, but a younger target man happy to play in the cups and get occasional Prem appearances might have been ideal. Who? I have no idea. Wickham is probably too young. Maybe a Chamakh type - not that good but at least the type of striker who can cover Adebayor.

The problem I see is VDV, Pav and Defoe can all probably play alongside Adebayor with varying degrees of success but he can be a foil for them all. If he isn't there I don't see any 2 of those 3 combining particularly well - none of them can hold the ball up particularly well if at all. I'd rather Pav went instead of Crouch for that reason, but ultimately I think we're going to come to rely on Adebayor (if he's interested that is) and if he isn't available we'll really miss what he brings; we don't have another who can even begin to replicate it...

When did his brother die? When was his outstanding performance away to Milan?

I rest my case.

One good performance in how long? He gives the ball away all the time. No point winning all those tackles just to give the ball straight back.

Except that's not maths, it's qualitative opinion.

A more mathematical truth is that we haven't sold Gomes.

Who played in goal? Gomes.

Who now plays in goal? Friedel.

Therefore he's replaced him. I never said anything about him being sold.

As Bus_Conductor would tell you, Palacios had the best pass completion rate of any Spurs midfielder.

Really? Surprising. Seems to give the ball away more than anyone, especially over short distances. Was surprised to find out win percentage is higher without mod too.

Fucking hell brett, can you at least give Friedel and Parker a couple of months of competative football before chopping their bollocks off? Palacios has been fucking awful in general in the last 12 months, and thats a Rafafact. Hence why he was bought by Stoke. For £8m...

IMO Palacios was a big mistake why we let him leave annoys me Very pleased Crouch's gone, he did a job which we appreciate but never quite good enough, his goals return was pretty poor.

A striker was the main purpose and hopefully in Adebayor we've got that.

A top class defender would have sealed it, pretty sure we can get better than Cahill.
