People who say it's OK to boo the team because tickets that they choose to buy are expensive annoy me intensely.

I don't mind the belief that there is a right to boo - especially connected with prices charged these days. Booing, itself, is fine as the final sanction.

But that is where I start to have problems. It is the constant booing. Booing and moaning. Booing and moaning for relatively minor things. Booing and moaning because a player who was signed who isn't the player person x, y or z wanted signed, makes a mistake. Booing and moaning because a player who is down on confidence does something displaying a lacking of confidence...and then the booing makes him even less confident. Booing has been shown, scientifically, to have a detrimental effect overall on performance (yes, it may spur some players on) - we had a thread on it, with appropriate links. So, some fans believe that having an abstract right to boo is more important than the fact that the booing is being massively overused and used to the detriment of the club, which is, surely, the opposite effect to the one they want. And that is why, whenever anyone says anything about the booing, the answer is that they have a right to. Yes, you do, but we have a right to say it has a detrimental effect on the team, and therefore the opposite of supporting the team!

I don't get the Rafa thing.
Great player as I said in this thread but he was not fit enough and never got the 90 minutes. He was out of here like a shot when he was told he had to fight for a place.
And he was a fucking wife beater.

Soldado has been rubbish since we got here, and the apologists have just helped that along.

What good is paying a guy 80k a week because 'if he can just score, he'll explode!'

He's a dud IMO, you just can't excuse his start. If he was at Liverpool or United, we'd be laughing.

Dipped back in to this thread, considering the amount of neg reps and actual discussion in here, it's safe to say that quite a lot of SC doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'amnesty'.

People are booing not because the tickets are expensive, but due to turgid shite they have had to endure for the last two years.

I'm not convinced by Harry Kane. He just doesn't seem to have that natural grace on the ball that the top players do. I think he may just be having a good run of form. Ultimately, I don't think he will be good enough for our first team.

*hopes he is wrong and this post will be ridiculed like the 'Bale not good enough' posts were, 5 years down the line.

I don't remember Alan Shearer having much natural grace on the ball either. Kane seems to have a knack at a young age for being in the right place and putting the ball in the net. Not bad habits to get into.

I have high hopes for Harry and conversely hope this post isn't ridiculed in 5 years time!!

Oh and time for my unpopular opinion. I'm not fussed about Erik Lamela. Definitely got talent but I don't think we will get the benefit from it. I believe he will be back in Italy this time next season. Sorry y'all.

The fact that we're praising Harry Kane & Ryan Mason as harbingers of the future is a sign of how we've gone downhill.

Lamela will be one of the very best attacking mids in the prem within a couple of years if he we have the patience to allow it.

I never understand the mentality of fans that think a player should never make a mistake or should never be on the floor injured because they're paid 50-100k a week. An injury isn't any less painful just because you're paid a lot for your job..

As an addition to that - people who say you cant speak negatively of the club on a forum. I'm all for support at the game to help the players but a forum is for discussion and critique as well as praise.

I think we have a good squad but their mentality and manager are letting down the fans.
