I was a massive advocate of Pochettino and I still hold out the hope we will come good, but I am becoming increasingly concerned about the upcoming season.

It makes matters worse when we look hopelessly disorganised yet again in the transfer window, scrambling for the two positions that were supposed to be a priority back in May.

We need to be sounding out potential alternatives just in case the confidence completely goes and the results start to spiral out of control. I really hope that it doesn't happen, but I fear it could if Poch is not backed properly (yet again) and if he doesn't start getting the team selection right and injecting some confidence into the team. At least this time there are some top managers potentially available if the worst were to happen.

Sadly the one common denominator is Daniel Levy. He's very good with the off the field stuff, but on the field he is highly questionable. Sacks manager, appoints another, fails to back him but they still show promise, fails to back him again because he thinks we'll get away with it, pressure grows, results turn, Levy sacks manager.

Sadly I can see this happening again if something isn't done soon signings wise, because we're in dire need of an injection of confidence. Berahino and Illarramendi would be great, with someone like Pato perhaps to add some excitement to the season. Unfortunately though even one of those 3 seems optimistic at the moment.

To be honest, even if he does deliver with the signings, they come too late to be integrated, and by the time October comes around we're way off the pace. Welcome to the Spurs cycle.

Nail on the head. Not a fan of Pochettino but I've advocated sticking with him in order for us to get some sort of stability. However there's not much point if he's not backed with the players he needs, and can't manage the players he has.

I really don't rate Vertonghen. His defending is generally poor and his attitude seems really questionable.

yeah he's absolute shite

he's gone from one of my favourite players (12/13 [still miss you andre & gareth]) to this moody seemingly moronic lumbering bellpiece. would rather play wimmer

I don't think I've ever heard such a continuous stream of meaningless rhetoric than what I hear from Pochettino every post game.

Does he even believe the shit he spouts?

Literally filters down to cliches and empty statements.

Not that I expect him to detail everything that will be discussed behind closed doors in public but a bit of self-criticism or recognition of our specific failures wouldn't go a miss.

I'm wildly optimistic when it comes to Spurs but for the first time ever I'm losing the faith. AVB built us from the back and other than the defeats to the big clubs it look like we knew what the fuck we were doing. This however, I don't know how to explain it. Clueless, absolutely clueless. Every player on that pitch is scared of playing forward so the ball always ends up with Toby, Jan or Hugo which defeats the object of counter attacking or whatever the fuck the plan is.

Let me point out that I'm glad Redknapp was sacked but our obsession with tactical genii has taken us so far backwards. Any decent manager would get this squad playing to their strengths and playing better than we are at the moment. We don't have the players for this shitty system we've persisted with for fucking 50 odd games and I think even if we sign Bera we will look just as bad as we have. There is no plan A, let alone plan B.
It sounds weird but we could have any manager rock up tomorrow and I still feel we are eternally destined to play this turgid shite football.

We have tried new managers, we have tried new players... What's the answer?

I've lost faith in expecting any progress under Poch... Think us and him will tread water until eventually Levy puts him out of his misery

I think he's just repeating his 'English for crap football managers beginners' course over and over again.

I don't even bother reading his comments. I assume it's just some mangled discussion about 'focus', 'effort', and 'concentration'.

I'm on a roll.

Wondering if Toby is seemingly as gormless as he looks... Getting an easy ride of it at the moment due to Vertoghen looking even worse.

Alarm bells rang given his torrid time in Madrid and I had my reservations as to whether to just suited Southampton's specific system.

Looks a decent player but with our seeming lack of limitless funds, I wish we just used the younger and already assured looking Dier as a centre back and put that £12 million or whatever towards a quality defensive midfielder.

Never really rated Toby at all. Fazio is a better CB, IMO. Verts hasnt been great, but IMO, Toby has been alot worse. Definite product of the system at Saints and the players he had in front of him at DM. He made it obvious in his comments. I was never a fan of his signing and unfortunately, ive only been vindicated so far.

Dier is not a DM. Im tired of him in that role. He's a CB, period.

Bar Judas C**tbell playing for us again, no Spurs player should ever be singled out for booing or cheers when being subbed off. I see comments about how great a set of away fans we are and yes in terms of numbers we are, however, when some Spurs fans get it into their head that they don't like a player it seems like there really is no coming back and they look out for anything they can moan about.

I was embarrassed to be standing amongst a crowd of people cheering the fact that Lamela was being subbed off. Obviously I felt it was the right move by Poch but the vitriol spouted towards him during the match is just so uncalled for. Nobody played well but that doesn't mean you shouldn't support every single one of them in a white shirt.

Leicester had the best home support I've seen by a PL club and it was just a stark contrast in what we class as support these days.

Our away fans usually do us proud, but I don't want to be associated with anyone singing the "she told me to kick his fucking head in" song that was ringing out yesterday. Knuckle dragger mentality.

I only ask because the guy in front of me told me we shouldn't sing that song, seemed a bit of a coincidence.

I wouldn't ever tell people what they should or should not sing. It's just one of several songs I don't happen to like.

The thing that dissapoints me the most is that i was really looking forward to the start of this season, as sometimes i have been very critical of Levy and the way the club/team are run.
But no this summer i have been really positive thinking that things would be different with the club announcing that we would go Our pre season tour to the far east at the end of last season to be prepared and ready to go.
Couple that with poch saying he was looking to get business done early and itk saying lessons have been learnt etc i was buzzing like an acid house reveller, but to my horror this pre season looks a disaster with only one win and having to play two games in two days three days before we kick off for real.
The usual has occured with the team/squad being half done is just begun still chasing targets with no degree of certainty of getting anyone, plus a poor start to the campaign with no wins and Four goals conceded.
Its going to be a long week or so until the window ends and an even longer season looks to be on the horizon, because the team looks under prepared and no spark or Energy about it with a coach who appears to me to be lost in the political minefield of levys THFC.

I've got loads:
  • Playing Dier at CM is unforgivable, he has the agility of a combine harvester.
  • Ben Davies shouldn't be a footballer. Swapping Gylfi for him and Vorm was a terrible decision as they're both shit.
  • Walker's been our best player this year.
  • Chadli and Davies is the most pedestrian, one-paced left-side in the league. I can't wait to have Danny Rose back, and Chadli needs competition badly - he scores and occasionally puts in a good cross, but most of the time he gets dispossessed or massively slows down our play. Similar can be said about Lamela but it's all been done.
  • Pochettino is tactically frigid and has no bollocks. At times I'd rather we had Sherwood in the dugout.
  • Eriksen's needs to start creating. Scoring from pot-shots from the edge of the box and free-kicks is cool, but I'd like a "10" that actually picks out through balls often.
  • Kane has looked like Grant Holt this season, but I think he's just knackered and lacks any real support.
  • Paul Mitchell doesn't actually exist.

There are probably others.
