Hmm bit weird if just a straight loan.

Levy attempting to appease the fans with a big name post-Kane, even if it's temporary?

Think we defo need to sign Johnson on a permanent too if there's no option for Fati.

Wonder if this increases the chances of Perisic leaving too given our numbers up top if we sign both.

If Barca is requiring a buy-back there may still be room to get a deal done.

Loan for this season, buy option for fair amount (35-40M). Barca get a Buy Back option for 60-70M that expires 2026.

I smell a fab tweet . I was told we would only sanction of there was a way he’s secured if we want him long term . I would be shocked if the club have agreed this with out some agreement arranged

Have to say I think this sighing is bigger than some perceive it to be.
This could easily be the signing of the summer, the kids got bags of ability and still a very high ceiling.

Sure there’s a few negatives, but if we focus on the positives I think this could get very exciting.
…and if he realizes on that ability and ceiling he slots straight back into Barca’s team if we don’t have an option. I think we’d all be happy to see if he has it for us, but aren’t excited by the prospect of him heading straight back if he does.

A couple of years ago I could only have dreamed of us getting someone like Fati.

The optimist in me says if he comes in and does brilliantly he could opt to stay with the club even without an option or obligation in the deal, like Odegaard did after joining that lot on a loan only deal.

Further to that. If he does really well and we secure Europe and he decides not to stay. Our club will be in better shape to recruit a long term Son successor anyway. Win win (hopefully).

Such an important element. I don't really see how it benefits if it's a one year straight loan. We see that players who come down a level are not always motivated on a year loan.

We did the Reggie deal with RM with a buy-back so it's not completely new territory.

But he’s also presumably had a year tearing it up for us?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m skeptical that it’s be a straight loan but maybe Ange thinks neither Son or Perisic are what he needs there?

Without having read through the whole thread I am surprised we are in for him, more that Barca are happy to let him go as I thought he was quite highly rated by them.

No pressure on the lad but if this is a straight loan with no option he better be bloody brilliant

I'm talking Stéphane Dalmat level performances 🔥
