With benfica about to pocket €80m for Ramos I doubt we'd get him cheaper than Tapsoba.

Only my opinion but i get the feeling we just don't think Tapsoba is worth the fee that they want, so not so much a 'we won't spend big money' , more a 'we won't spend big money on this particular player'. No real substance to back that up, although i do think we paid an awful lot of money for VdV , so i assume the scouts and manager thought he definitely was worth it.

May be a similar scenario here, where what looks like a massive fee is actually seen as a pretty decent investment because he's that good ? (fyi i've literally only heard of him 10 mins ago , i'm just going by some of the other opinions of him !).

I actually am really interested to see how Ange would see him fitting but there's no denying he's quality.

Interestingly one of the comparisons is to Josip Sutalo who undoubtedly would command a much lower fee.

Granted we'll be likely having an influx of capital from Kane but if we are now legitimately targeting the likes of Silva for big money - more than Tapsoba - then do we start asking questions of Romero's future as alluded to previously?

Have to factor age in to cost as well. I think we're more likely to spend on a 19 year old than a 25 year old. That future sell on is worth it to ENIC.
It's only 2 players but if we got this lad and Orban for much of the Kane money I think that would be good. Especially with VdV and Veliz also coming in.
That would set us up well for the future and young players for Ange to mold in the way Poch did with his young squad.

Don’t get me wrong he looks an insane talent but I don’t think we’d be bringing him in to the right environment. Romero is our most experienced competent CB and he’s not a leader or organiser really. I think we need a nailed on fairly experienced first teamer like Tapsoba.

It’s a no brainer on top of Tapsoba with a loan back to Benfica though.
