Yes, and If he leaves PSG we'll be outgunned when it comes to wages. Whether that's by Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Arsenal or Utd, it'll happen. His stock is too high for us to even be in contention.

I'm not denying that, but the same could be said of Martial. The difference is that PSG are willing to sell and Man U don't want to, at least not without giving them a player

Martial >> Draxler for our needs personally.

Draxler is a tricky and talented player but can't really cover the CF position, gets a fair few injuries and lacks the out and out pace of Martial.

But then I'm one of the ones that would happily sacrifice Rose for Martial (partly because I believe in Poch and FBs) so a bit biased.

Draxler would possibly fit the ITK from today though. Hercules mentioned that we have irons in the fire in France and it would set us back about 10m and that Janssen would stay if this player was brought in...so this guy wouldn't HAVE to be able to play 9.

I find it hard to believe Draxler would cost around 10m though, I would expect 3 times that if not more

I think he meant as far as net spend. And he also mentioned it would be a loan for this season with option to buy for 40-50.

Ah okay, that would explain it. Draxler, would be awesome and could see PSG loaning him out. Just cant see it being to us.

Is Martial really that good that we would sacrifice our 2nd FB of the window to get him? I'm not sure. I would love him at the club. But at the expense of Rose? No. Unless of course Poch has had enough of Rose and he's going anyway - then in that case - screw him and sign Martial!!
Personally I think that under Poch he has the potential to be a true world class super star

Maureen will never get that out of him, so we've not seen much of the potential

Rose has peaked, coupled with poisonous attitude & potentially a bad relationship with Poch

Short term pain for medium to long term gain

Depending on who else they flog they might have to sell him to balance the books. Regardless, a loan is a great option and we could contribute a loan fee. I'd be cool with us paying £10m up front just for a years' loan for a player of his quality. Can then do a further £30-40m to purchase him outright next year should all go well. Perhaps the purchase of Aurier could help spark this kind of deal.

Why is this thread still ongoing? I feel like people have just skipped the ITK about Man united only wanting something they need and they don't need money and Spurs won't give up "family silver". Time to put this to bed.

It's stil going because people insist on tellin everyone it won't happen and that the thread should be closed, which keeps it at the top of the list

Starting this afternoon v Leicester, so the deal is entering dodo territory....
If Martial is going to get starts then he won't want to leave. The only reason he wanted out is to fight for place in the France squad. If Jose didn't rate him, doesn't mean he still doesn't now. He changed his mind over Mata so why not Martial, he's 2 in 2. This transfer was never going to happen so it's not really surprising, what's more surprising is how many people thought we could actually get him.

He may just find himself back to bench after the window closes.. And that's when Ibra is coming back..

It was always going to be a long shot.

Here's hoping he has a stinker today.
