He'll also be missing in January when the Asian Cup takes place, and maybe even the Christmas programme preceding it as it's a mandatory competition. Unless we've done a deal with South Korea for him to skip it if he wins gold in the Asian Games.

I believe we made an agreement for him to play in the games in return for not playing in the Cup. he needs gold to receive military exemption, the Asia cup doesn't count I believe

What's so dire that we desperately need an attacking mid that can also cover for Kane? We have Son for that. He's going to be missing for a month.

You don't think Poch desperately wants a WF? Why on earth is Martial his top target then?

You think Son is going to cover Kane in a 60 game season? You'll be happy with that? Laughable.

I said dire need.

I'd suggest it is dire. Son isn't a striker. He can do a job but if Son then has to play as a striker, who comes in that can offer the same amount of goals as Son does from WF?

Moura and Lamela aren't exactly prolific.

Really dont give a shit how much he costs. If Poch wants him buy him. We’re past the stage where we can start being fussy about money

So what if we use our whole budget on Martial? You'll be ok not buying a midfielder? Will Poch be ok with us not buying a midfielder?

I thought there was itk saying Martial was 'off the menu' regarding our interest? Love the way the media have thrown Bayern and Dortmund into the mix indicating we can't compete with them. Bayerns record buy is 41.5M and Dortmunds is 30M!

Obviously we aren’t ever going to spend over £100m on Martial are we. I meant fussy as in trying to lowball to what they want. Come to accept Grealish is going to be our only MF signing as Dembele will stay

Nor should we spend over £100 million. Equally we could invest in another WF/CM/CB. Apart from Grealish- which in the last few minutes seems to be close- we just don’t know what’s going to happen

I agree but we’ve needed that since the start of the window...Coming to a stage now where I think we need to just pay more for less to just get it done

sky sports is saying chelsea is intersted too but surely man u wont want to sell and strengthen them being rivals, unless they throw silly money at them panicking after they lose hazard/willian

I think the latter is exactly what is on the cards.

I think Maureen is running scared. He is acutely aware that Martial in our team will P*** all over manure.
