The one thing i've learned over the last few windows is that even when you yourself get information that sounds concrete, it can often turn out to be wrong due to confusion/crossed wires/source isn't quite as clued up about Spurs as they had claimed to be etc.

With that in mind, any information i receive i initially share with a few of the more trustworthy and level headed members of the boards in pm's then see how things develop before i go off shouting about how i know something etc. Anyone else's info i read and nod and move on - no matter how definite they are, i won't buy it til i eye it.

I've got at least two contacts in positions where they are able to give me inside info on our squad and other players locally (Berbatov, Boateng, Benayoun... why are the first three i recall all B's?? ). Though i suppose it is possible, it's unlikely i'd get a scoop on anyone signing below the radar, as it were, more just news or gossip about them generally.

If Parker is done and dusted, and we know Harry loves Thudd, could this mean our long term plan is Bale at LB and Modric on the left?

So we need contacts to cover "A" and "C to Z" - Anyone?

From skyderen on COYS

Been told we will offer Bale a new contract

Unfortunately I can't see his advisers agreeing to that. What will happen is a 1 year extension MAX at huge wages or just improved wages which will obviously not be made public

Can't say it sounds like anything worth taking notice of, though cheers Biz for the effort in bringing it to us. When it was blindingly obvious that Lennon was one of our, if not our best player against Brum... well let's just say I smell an agenda. As for the Parker stuff and the Adebayor stuff, that's just taking a stab at info that has as much chance of being right as it does being wrong, there's nothing unsafe there.

Thought Lennon had his best game in ages.

He's said it is on numerous occasions (including last month).
Some people just don't want to accept it, and continue to label anyone who does as insane...apart from the source for the belief (Harry Redknapp), that is. Funny, that.

Does that make Gareth Bale insane? Last interview I read with him, after the Inter games, he himself said that his preferred position is left back, but he's happy to play wherever the manager asks, and getting forward is a huge part of his game.

I'd like some Torres and Gerrard ITK to come up about now.

And the annual Beckham link too!

BBC Rumours today says we'll offer 6M plus Livermore and Townsend for Conor Wickham in January. Does anyone know how he's doing this year? Seems to have fallen off the radar a bit after a storming season last year.

Looking at the stats, he's not scored and has only made 4 appearances after a knee injury in the summer. Hard to know how to interpret this - does this reduce his value or, with how terribly Ipswich are doing without him, improve it?

Apparently his form has been poor since coming back from his knee injury, but then Postman Road is a troubled place at the moment under Keane, and you get the feeling that he would always rather have hardened pros in his side at the minute.

Some news on Wickham

he was out injuried and came back, felt he was ready to play psyhio says give it another week,he goes straight to keane and says i should be in the starting line up for this game<bad idea, keane flips the lid and says who the fook do you think you are telling me who should be in the team....bad blood since.keane is the most stubborn fooker in football and would rather get the sack than say hes wrong,so id say he needs out sharpish

Apparently the Liverpool board are ready to sanction a £10M move for Wickham

Liverpool's new owners are ready to back manager Roy Hodgson in the race for £10m-rated Ipswich teenage star Connor Wickham.
Full story: Daily Mail

BUT

1306: Ipswich striker Connor Wickham is not interested in moving to Liverpool and favours a move to either Tottenham or Arsenal. Spurs lead their north London rivals in the race for the 17-year-old and are expected to offer £5.5m in addition to winger Andros Townsend and midfielder Jake Livermore to land Wickham.
Full story: Goal.com

Have to say i'd be very happy with that as though both Townsend and Livermore are good young players i just don't think they are going to be good enough to make it at Spurs.
