As to the original question, are we a top club. No, we've hardly won anything in the last 20 years and our turnover is about 1/2 that of the teams above us. Can we be again? I hope so, but it will be difficult.

Are we a top club? Of the millions of clubs around the world we are probably one of the 30 biggest. I would call that a top club. Are we one of those clubs chinese kids fall in love with? No. We need CL for that. So worldwide we are not regarded as the likes of RM, MU, Milan, BM and so on. But maybe one day..?

We're a 'big-ish' club in my opinion.

We're known, but not renowned. Soon though.... soon

How long is a piece of string?

Without a proper definition this could be endlessly debated.

Personally, I think we are a while off. There are the massive clubs like Utd, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and then below that the good clubs like Lyon, Porto and Milano and then below that there are clubs like Schalke, Spurs and Malaga.

Financially spurs can't compete with other powerhouses and are not gifted an easier league like Portugal. Step one is getting the stadium up and payed off, then using new resources to improve the squad. After that the sky is the limit.

I don't care about facebook likes just our history and our future. We're one of the best in the best league in the world and trying to be fair about it which isn't easy because I admit I'm biased, we play the best football in this league. We're a big club no matter what anyone says.

I guess there's some sort of measurement in facebook likes but I suspect it's mostly Asian "fans" many of whom would have gone on a few different sites and due to their inate cultural good manners would have liked those pages, would also mean they might not be left out of something but it could also mean that our facebook page is crappy in which case its purely and simply a poll on club's facebook pages.
As for the question can we become a big club? Well if chelsea can become a big club then we can become absolutely fecking massive

Reminds me of when I went on holiday to Brazil.

Hardly anyone had heard of Tottenham, even though Gomes played for us.

Only teams they knew were those in the Champions League.

Went Cuba. Said I supported Tottenham (Tottingham actually worked as a translation). Got laughed at.

Well that's exactly the question that troubles me most, what is the quickest way to make this club successful?
I used to believe that building a new stadium was the way to go but now I think building a successful team would be cheaper and a faster way to get there.
Until it becomes unsustainable and the club collapses.

I am perfectly happy at the way the clubs is run. We will be around a lot longer after the billionaire play things have lost their bank roll.

Now we are getting a DoF, transfers will be more balanced now.
