After the usual platitudes about United being triffic and us still looking okay with 12 pts from 5 games, Harry made an interesting comment in this article on Skysports website:

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5555792,00.html

United are among the favourites to land the title again this term but Redknapp feels they could face a serious challenge from Manchester City,

who beat Arsenal 4-2 on Saturday.

"City will threaten everyone," said the Spurs manager.

"They have to with the players they have brought in. It will be an interesting game between City and United next week, they look like they can beat anyone.

"I tried to sign three or four of them but I couldn't get near them.

"Lescott, Toure, Adebayor, Barry are top players. It will be an interesting title race.

"They could do anything, anything's possible. They have a strong enough squad."

It would be interesting to know which. We have had stacks of info saying Barry and Santa Cruz. Harry himself even talked about them, I think. That leaves 1/2 players, though.

I'm sure most people remember the Tevez link coming from some blabber-mouthed imbecile during the summer. At the time The Goat received some harsh words, but of course the above doesn't necessarily exhonorate him. Otherwise, I can't imagine we were in for the Arsenal lads, so maybe we asked about Lescott?

Makes you wonder what our team would be like at the moment if it weren't for City's cash. Lescott alongside King or covering for BAE? Barry and Palacios in the middle? Tevez might have been handy yesterday (although completely unachieveable and no ta at 47m! Eek )

Still, could have been good.

It may have been players already at the club as well, don't forget - players like Joe Hart, who went out on loan to the Brum - Wayne Bridge - Richards..

Tevez has barely featured and Santa Cruz hasn't to date. Aa near miss then.

I took it as Harry saying City beat him to signings, so not players at the club. Re-reading it, it isn't clear though.

Unlike Harry.
