If QPR don't get back into the Premiership they will have serious problems next season. FFP will kick in so they will need to offload a lot of players.

I watched their game against Burnley and it was typical Redknapp, no cohesion, no plan just utter lottery bullshit ending in a 3-3.

I recorded today's game because I was hoping to see Carroll, but the idiot had Kranjcar in a CM2 with Barton, not for the first time either. Kranjcar CM in a 442, you couldn't make this shit up. Remember when he did that against ManC for us ?

Even when he plays Carroll, the games I've seen he plays him in a CM2 (442) and has him sitting holding more with Barton bombing on more. It's all good and well giving him game time, but he could be getting so much more out of him if he played him in the correct role and set up.

Yeah remember the City game.

Agree to, ridiculous using the likes of Kranjcar and Carroll in a midfield two.

We should of sent Carroll out on loan to a team who was going to use him properly.

There's a bit much "Look Harry's failing again I was right all along" in here.

The fact is it was never going to be easy for them to go straight up. The squad is full of players that would not be high on any PL clubs shopping lists and really isn't any better than a few of the other teams up there. Add in the seemingly annual surprise package, this year Burnley who do indeed have an excellent manager, and you end up with the current situation.

QPR have been on tv quite a bit lately and they always seem to be playing 442, but to put Krancjar, one of the most immobile players as part of that cm2 is just madness.

Earlier on in the season they seemed to be playing more of a 4-5-1 but he's abandoned that lately.

I agree to an extent but I think Redknapp has made a major fuck up in his search for goals, similarly to how things went for us sometimes. Earlier on in the season QPR were playing a 451 and nicking games 1-0, 2-0, they weren't scoring heaps but they weren't really conceding a lot either.

It appears though more recently, and certainly in the Burnley game that I saw, Redknapp's answer to goals was to go to a more traditional 442, which seems to have had a massively adverse affect on the team. I don't think any of the 3 CM's that he has used in Carroll/Barton/Kranjcar are actually able to play in a 442.

FFP only cares about international football.

UEFA FFP cares about european competition teams.

Premiership rules on FFP care about Premier League teams.

FA FFP rules care about Championship teams down.

You also have European leagues that have their own FFP rules. Spain for example:

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...ay'-rules-for-spanish-football-agreed?cc=5739

The Spanish government and the Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP) have agreed new 'financial fair play' rules for Spanish football, which they say mean that from next season no team will be permitted to sign a new player unless they have their accounts in order.

[Copyrighted Image removed]

The new agreement is being hailed as a landmark moment in Spanish football

Under the new regulations, clubs will have to submit accounts to the LFP for approval each year, before being allowed to register new players.

LFP president Jose Luis Astiazaran claims the new binding rules are similar to UEFA's much-trumpeted Financial Fair Play initiative, and are aimed at ensuring all Spanish clubs live within their means.

"The 'Control' agreed is close to UEFA's financial fair play," Astiazaran told El Confidencial. "Sustainability for the teams is the aim. The budget will be limited by some historical variables. There is a limit to the total cost of the squad. From next season, if you go over this limit, you cannot sign players."

Spanish sports minister Miguel Cardenal said the agreement marked a turning point in Spanish football, and past flouting of financial sense would no longer be tolerated.

"There is a before and after in Spanish football starting from today," he said. "Reality is returning to Spanish football. 21 teams have made use of the Ley Concursal [voluntary administration] despite the growth in salaries, generating tension and situation which from now on will not be tolerated. I back the 'Economic Control' accord passed by the LFP. This is the moment to banish the topics which have accompanied football in recent years."

The 20 La Liga clubs combined currently owe an estimated €3 billion. Only nine - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Osasuna, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Getafe, Sevilla and Espanyol - have not utilised the Ley Concursal since it was introduced in 2003.

Those clubs which have entered administration have not faced any football penalties, meaning that when signing a player, they have been free to out-bid rivals who have been more careful with their finances. However, Astiazaran claims this situation will now come to an end.

"We are looking for all teams to be able to compete in equal conditions," he said. "Nobody should be able to take advantage of bad financial management."

The announcement came a day before the closing of a noticeably quiet winter transfer window in Spain. Only Sevilla, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Granada have actually paid a transfer fee to sign a player on a permanent deal this January.

In related news, AS reported on Thursday that Spanish broadcasters who show La Liga games will have to inform the clubs that they could not afford to pay the sums agreed in the current contract. The current agreement guarantees the clubs a combined €755 million a year to share out. AS said this figure could be cut by €175 million.

They've signed Morrison now as well (or at least agreed to sign him).

Kranjcar CM in a 442, you couldn't make this shit up. Remember when he did that against ManC for us ?

He had no choice against Man C as we had no CM's available other than Jake Livermore thanks to Modric refusing to play because 'his head wasn't right'.
I wouldn't play him there, certainly not in the Championship, but he can't be criticised for the City game. The following week we'd signed Parker, told Modric he was staying and hey presto, nice midfield 2.

I am surprised he hasn't gone in for a Palacios type. Surely you need a player like that at Champ level.

Their best combination as been Carroll and Henry with a 2 man midfield according to their fans

The whole team has been picking up a pay check thinking that they just need to turn up to get promoted.

They are facing a £60million fine if they get promoted as I understand

If they don't get promoted. Relegated Premiership teams get a 1 year bye for FFP in the Championship. If they don't get promoted it will kick in. As it stands they will get a massive fine unless they sell and cut their wage bill.

Modric started that game with Kranjcar. He had Huddlestone and Livermore on the bench he also had Jenas available I think, as well as Parrett.

He can be criticised, it was bonkers to play him in a cm2 with Modric in a 442 with Lennon and Bale either side. It wasn't even as strong as the chocolate teapot midfield he usually played.
