It is a concern, especially "if" they are in advanced talks with Higuain AND are looking at Shrek as an axis of them two would be quite special.
I see the bin dippers are also throwing cash around like it's going out of fashion, we need to get our first quality signing in asap just to show a bit of intent!

If Higuain deal happens, we will speed up ours as well.

This is one of the first strong pieces of business I think they've done for some time (if it happens) I don't think it changes our objectives though - if anything, they spend 20mill on a striker, it probably takes them out of the market for anyone else.

Other than Cazorla I've not rated many of their signings highly for a good few seasons and I actually think Higuain represents a real quality buy - but as others have mentioned a striker is not as big a priority as other areas of their team - they finished a good 15 goals up on us last year, so goals aren't an issue.

As for whether they'll spend big? I can't see it personally, they always balance their books and I can't see their owners and board sanctioning a big gamble after years of steady control and financial stability. They may buy but they will sell as well.

I don't think they are looking at the goal difference vs us.....they are looking at the gap vs the teams that finished above them last year.

I don't know why they are worrying so much, they will definitely tie up the Higuain deal, we are the one's that have it all to do. When the Arsenal players had to step up and win every game they did it, we came up just short. We've got to get that kind of mentality if we are going to overhaul Arsenal.

Arsenal ready to spend big...

Probably means they've done a special deal with the company that supplies The national Lottery with those large cheques...

wheres this spending? It is all talk they will sign a couple of players on deadline day to paper the cracks, one of 4 will turn out ok, they will get booed off for the first half of the season and want wenger out, then love him and go mad on the last day when they get UCL football.

Arsenal will sign Higuain and I can't realistically see them signing anyone else. So, is he better than RVP?

Suarez in an Arsenal shirt, what a disgustingly putrid image
Perfect match though. Utter scum to a man. Disgusting club who bought their way via brown envelopes into the top flight to begin with.

****s.

Hope they heavily spend another £15m on the likes of Mertesacker and Santos again. I fully endorse that kind of heavy spending by Wenger.

I personally beoieve that whenever Wenger makes a big signing he sees it as a personal failure as he believes he can build a great team himself from his own youngsters, he can't but it's hard for him to admit and that's why they never go on a spree.
How good is Higuain by the way? In La Liga last season the top five scorers all got over 20 and scored 157 goals between them where the prem only scored 107 bear in mind only three scored over 20 and they were Van Persie, Suarez and Bale who are all world class showing how much harder it is in England, Higuain came eighth with 16 just above Heldar POSTIGA!!, and he plays for Real Madrid so how many is he likely to score over here?
