No, but Redknapp had much better squad than AVB has at present. Last season we also had some crap results against so called weaker teams and also lost 5-2 at the Emirates, mainly due to Redknapp's tactical changes to go 4-4-2 with eleven men for the vast majority of the game.
As I said after the defeat last week, until our injury position improves and we can hopefully improve the squad in January then we are going to have to endure some tough times. The worst thing we can do as fans is to start to get on AVB's back.

So youre blaming Harry for last years result because he went 4-4-2 yet what did we start with today? (I personally don't think that was the reason we lost both games anyway). You can't have it both ways

Agree it's a throwback to the 90s where we roll over and die!! Had a feeling this was on the cards but believe me it never stops the pain! Good job I was at work but then doesn't stop the chirping goons crowing around you! Arrogance at max level in Walcott's mould sends you ! Thanks Adebayor might as well just turned out for them. These defeats are so much worse when heavy, time after time we cave into them with embarassing ease - mental strength of a cream cracker when we will learn to fight these North London phoneys!!!

Funny reading that Levy was stressing how important this game was to AVB beforehand and when I heard the news he was going 4-4-2 my immediate thoughts were positive, daring, brave and commendable but then on the other hand the reality check, tucked away in the back of my mind had sneaky suspicion it was playing right into their trap where Adebayor had to be the rat that duly obliged as the catch. To hear reports we took the lead and controlled the game until that moment is gutting. So do we say AVB's lost it yet? Well the pounding he will receive is inevitable but without a number of first teamers it's unfair to call time but it really does seem we are returning to the 90s where injuries pile up and we go nowhere! So where next please not a defeat to the Spammers next weekend I already fear their getting the upper hand on us as well! Also just to note that away kit is appalling just seems to underline how poor we can be. Final thought if your manager is that stubborn he sticks with Gallas over Dawson then does the writing on the wall become easier to read - maybe for now it just reads - 'kack weekend get over it and move on!' that's becoming a motto we know so well right time for a drink or two or ten :sour:

Two different matches. Redknapp's changed from a formation that was winning a game. AVB played 4-4-2 intially against a very different Arsenal team, with success until the sending off forced a change. He then changed in the second half to try to chase the game.
Very different circumstances in the two matches, so I don't get your point. In the first the change was made by the manager voluntarily, in the second changes were forced on the manager and IMO he made brave decisions at half time.

We started last year 4-4-2 as well went 2 nil up. we changed formation at half Time when it was 2-2 then lost three more goals. You're right we should get behind AVB, but I dont get the people that were right on Harrys back yet have got all the excuses in the world for AVB. Arsenal are poorer this year as well. We had an equivalent team in 09/10 as we do now and Modric was out for a long time yet I still think Harry got the best out of them. Anyway that's history and he's gone I'm right behind AVB and before the sending off I thought we were playing well. Whether we would have won or not who knows.

Yeah that would be idea, and ease Kaboul back into it. thinking more about next week than in 2 months time though!
On another note, just looked at the table, and did you know that we have lost more games than 16 other pl teams. Thats is shocking

Yes and one of the worst goals against truly awful.

Yeah, that suggests we had 10 outfield players...

Nope it suggests that people are listening to Sky's lazy assumptions just because they saw two strikers lining up together on the pitch rather than watch the game, well the first 16 mins anyway.

At no point we were 4-4-2 today, when Arsenal had the ball Ade dropped back and became the 3rd man.

Watched the game just now with the ability to pause, review etc. At the risk of sounding like a glass half full Spurs fan, there are several positives to be drawn from this game. We looked like the better side away from home against our rival for the 4th spot. After really rocking in the closing stages of the first half, the lads came out with a lot of heart and played some good stuff in the second. Suggests that their is some unity and pride. Bale showing his class and heart, leading by eg. If his shot had gone in at 4-2, well we could have grabbed a most unlikely draw. If you add the missing injured players to this group and give AVB and the players the time they need we can move forward and secure 4th.

We know that Ade is not so shitty card but he does idiotic thing and get sent off. We know that Vertonghen is not so shitty card but he makes school boy mistake and we concede goal №5. It's bad management. Good manager must have nailed on Ade's head: I know you have personal vendeta against Arsenal, so don't let a rush of blood to cloud your mind, keep cool head, don't go wild and violent. Trust me Alex Ferguson would get a psychologist to shadow Ade the whole week before NLD.

Let's not judge him what could have been with XYZ, let's judge him by how good players perform under him. Imo he has no strength, no passion, no charisma, no real knowledge of football. He sits there and looking in his notes - how teams should play being 2-4 down. Wow!

I think players must have respect and have a healthy dose of fear for their manager. He has neither.

Lot's of managers could win Portuguese league with Falcao and Hulk upfront. As to UEFA Cup - even Middlsbro with Macclaren could reach the final. He was kind of lucky to have very good players.

We were about to batter those scummy xxxxs and our main threat got sent off and left us with mr offside/selfish up front to disappear himself. They were even cowering when they were 4-2 up at home with an extra man...jesus, that's the sort of shit we do! That happened because of what AVB did with 10 men!

Nonsense post.

If AVB is fucking about and being hard-headed etc. thenI'm one fo the first to comment, but today he showed that he actually does have a good tactical brain and I hope today has taken the shackles off of him and he can shake of his chelsea days and stop his PR campaign here with our players and just now go forward and unleash some hard-arsed decision making to sort us out until we can get a few more quality players in.

He really surprised and impressed me today. Admired what he did.

Ooh look, ManU lost to Norwich. That's the side we didn't beat and after which people were calling for AVB's head. These people must be confused now, but let's not let reasoned thought enter their heads.

Couple of comments from me on todays game !!
We would have beaten them today with 11 men on the pitch, we were by far better!!
5-2 Scoreline flattered them a lot!!
out of the Toms, Carrol should start ahead of Huddlestone!
Gallas is getting on my tits!!
And finally Sandro is our player if the season so far!!!

the spammers and the bin dippers are gonna get battered !!!!

Anyone got a vid or gif of Dawsons tackle on Walnutt

That was fucking special wasn't it? I love (in bro parlance) Daws. I would have been devastated to see him leave. I just hope AVB has the balls to drop Gallas for him now.

Levy is not at fault over Moutinho. He had a third party owner who would not sanction the move and such deals are illegal in the EPL.
And it took until 1 hour before the deadline to find out. Maybe he should have started working on it a little earlier

shamonejackson just hit this old post of mine with a neg rep "dumb" rating,.... funny though as he trolls around, he has NEVER posted a message of his own on an SC forum,... ever. Perhaps our mods may consider changing things here that either:

1- SC members must post a certain number of posts per week to be "allowed" to rate posts, or 2- the forum must make you quote the post you give neg rep to in order to explain (expose) your point. It is making the forum less fun under the current set up.

MODS -- do you copy? over...
dangerous route my friend, society of black lawyers will be all over you like a cheap suit for 24 hours...

For me, Huddlestone was at fault for their first three goals.

First one - he was marking Mertesacker, lost him completely.

Second one - he inadvertently played the one-two to let them in.

Third one - he played a hospital pass to Lennon, Lennon had to foul to set up the free kick for them.

He's a luxury player, and therefore a liability in a 4-4-2 - or, even worse, when you do down to ten men.
