we simply dont have the players people..

Our problems are the exact opposite in my mind, we have a wonderful (if not quite finished article) squad, it just needs to be better drilled, organised and play more coherently on occasions.

At our best we are possibly better than City and United, certainly their equals. It's our worst that is worse than those 2, that to me is the difference. I don't even think the remaining pieces of the jigsaw are even that difficult to put in place - if we did then we'd be frightening. Sometimes our play is exceptional, ruthless, scintillating - we just need to match that with the ugly grinding shit that wins league titles.

We got outplayed. We got outhearted. Just "Go out there and have fun" is not good enough to be a champion. There has to be more, and a lot of it was lacking today. The thing that annoyed me most was how long it was taking us to transition from defense to offense after winning the ball in our own half with Arsenal being very exposed to counterattacks.

Yet Arsenal gave us a footballing lesson in counter attacks.

I hate losing to them always, even in the Masters, but today wasn't about the losing, that happens, it was more the way we lost giving them the voice to call us shite.
Harry got most things wrong today, its all been said on here i can't be asked to repeat it all,but i don't think we have become a bad side overnite and will expect a serious reaction to regain some loss pride.
Today was a big wake up call hopefully, that you can get turned over anywhere in this league if you don't turn up or take liberties, ask Chelsea when they lost at home to the scum, and Man u who got turned over at home to Blackburn.

I think what we need to do is just never play Sandro near the wing again.

Oh, and for fucks sake Harry move Bale back to the wing. The amount of width he's lost us the last few games is beyond a joke.

Calm down everyone.

were still 7 points clear of that lot

That's only 3 games. Massive battle on our hands for 3rd now, are we up for the fight???

So far when push has come to shove in most of the big games we've folded. We're in a great position and I hope we don't throw it away.

I kept asking myself yest how we allowed their right back to score a header against us in open play. I mean didn't he have a left winger to keep an eye on.... well obviously not as Bale was roaming so he had a lot of license to get forward. We need to get back to some sort of shape as at the moment its like we have too many players that want swashbuckling free roles.

I think the fact that their full back scored a header in open play just shows that we played far too deep

Yep 1st half Sagna who now has a few games under his belt after his leg break, had all the time in the world on numerous occasions to pick his cross and bomb forward. Shocking how that was allowed to happen. We started just how I wanted, early goal, good passing, then 2 up, was looking a solid away performance. Sagna scores and we just fell to pieces.
There have been some heavy defeats for all top sides this season bar City, Utd recovered from losing 6-1 at home to their rivals, Woolwich got spanked 8-2, so I just hope the players show the right attitude now and cement 3rd spot.

Ryan, that don't mean a thing mate. What happened yesterday has boosted the filth and could knock us back, at the worst possible time considering the games we have. Also The Klan are gonna be buzzing after their cup win and chelski are picking up points.

We have to stop assuming - players and fans alike. We need to strive to catch the teams above and attack that purpose. We can never sit back and rest on a points lead or the fact that we may have a better team on paper etc.

All this has to stop and we need to keep pushing and developing all of the time.

We need to change our mindset, that's the key component that is holding us back from truly being on the road to greatness.

voice of reason... Get over it everyone, hopefully we will react against United...

Get over it? Did you watch the game yesterday? I don't think anyone on this board has had an irrational reaction what took place yesterday. It was thorough disgrace.

Seven points is naff all. We've got Manure at home, Everton, Chelski & Sunderlandland away yet.

I love Harry Redknapp and what he's done for our club, but he always seems a bit gung ho and doesn't want to approach any game in other than a swashbuckling attacking manner. Sometimes a more cautious, pragmatic approach, especially away against the top teams is the way forward. One point is better than none at all especially in a 'six pointer' such as yesterdays NLD. As soon as I saw the team sheet yesterday Alan Pardew's words of regret about setting his team up 4-4-2 at WHL last week came to mind.

yep, it was a disgrace, we played poorly.
tbh it's over and done with now the players know that they must react and turn in a good performance next weekend against united.

one positive i can get from this is that it's only the fifth time we have lost in 26 games. to drop seven points over the rest of the season is something i don't think we'll do.

Arsenal are going to be buzzing after yesterday and hopefully both them and Chelsea can't catch us. we need a win this week though.
