I think them letting Giroud sign for Chelsea is Arsenal pretty much giving up on top 4, very strange decision

Maybe they truly believe they can do a Man Yoo and win the Europa ?

Dortmund haven't got PEA anymore so they will be weaker LOL

Just seen that over the last three seasons, arsenal have scored 272 goals in all comps. Sanchez (55), giroud (47) and Theo (31). Nearly 50% of their goals were scored by the three they've let go

Why is Wenger casually strengthening rival teams for, Sanchez and now Giroud?

He is such a loser, no wonder Arsenal fans are frustrated at him.

Arsenal are still stronger now then before the window started - Sanchez didn't want to be there and was underperforming Vs his ability. So they have lost Sanchez and Giroud and replaced with PEA and Mhiki, I think that's an improvement.

Arguably. Miki, Lacazette and Aubemayang are unproven in the PL. Giroud scored more than 1 goal in 3. Walcott hasn't played much recently but has still scored many over the years.

Look at it in context:

Arsenal have arguably improved their front line but if you ask me losing Sanchez who was their talisman and it Proven in this league to be a match winner will dent them but okay fine they kept Ozil and signed Aubamayeng and Mkhitaryan which is arguable to say they are stronger going forward either way. But the reality is that it doesn't matter who they signed to replace Sanchez because their weakness is in their defence and their mentality, they are weak as piss and going back to what I said about Sanchez he is a big game player and would drag Arsenal out the mud single-handedly, I don't think they've got many players who can do that now.

I don't think they're stronger now.
Giroud dug them out the shit on countless occasions.
Sanchez was their best player.
They've also lost Walcott and Ox.
Is Boomerang a step up or on par with Sanchez? I doubt it.
Ozil resigining? Good they'll carry on playing with 10 men.
And like Liverpool until recently, scoring goals wasn't /isnt the problem. They're shit at the back and have done fk all to address that issue.
I don't see how any of their new signings will stop what happened last night from happening again.

I can agree to an extent that he was underperforming but an inform Sanchez is better than Auba and Mkhi - even when underperforming he still has that x-factor and they could surely have needed some of that against Swansea. He's arguably one of the best players in the prem - top 5 at least. Major loss.

They've signed some good players but they've ended up with duplicates of players they already had.

Maybe Wenger is on to something. Arsenal are like a cancer and he's spreading it around the entire league. Chelsea & United certainly caught it today.

I hate to admit it...

But if they do get Mkhitaryan, Aubamyeng, and ozil agrees a contract extension....

Unfortunately I was right... kinda new it.

Plus they unloaded some dead weight.

PEA will need time to settle... I hope.

Watching Ox and Walcott and they look to have improved in the short time away from Wenger.

Says a lot about the Arsenal situation.

They are spending to stand still. PEA is no upgrade on Sanchez, and they've lost Giroud just to make it happen. Mkhytarian is a useful addition, but we should still finish above them

Theo Walcott after first home game for Everton: "The crowd was amazing tonight". Yes, Theo, that's because they do this thing called support their team, and make this thing called some noise. I am aware that these are new things that ex ArseAnal players encounter on leaving their cocoon and going out into the big, wide World of not ArseAnal...but you will get used to it (y)

N.B. I agree with @McArchibald - and that they are still not addressing their real issue which is their defensive unit. Giroud strengthens Chelsea, however.

From this mornings Guardian online....

  • An agreement is close for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund. According to Fabrizio, a deal in the region of €65M (£57.1m) has been sorted between the clubs and, all going well, Aubameyang will sign a contract until 2012 at the Emirates Stadium, worth €10m a season.

Spot the usual Grauniad typo ... His contract until 2012 LOL.

Grauniad. That is a blast from the past. I miss Private Eye, used to love it .
