From reading some of the posts it seem as if Bale bailed out Spurs in every single games last season, him either slicing through any "parked bus" defense or scoring stunners from 20-30 meters at will. There was never a game he didn't score or set up a goal - well, except vs. Fulham, QPR, Wigan...and and.
And of course after having seen some of the players for 3 games now, like Chadli, Rose, Soldado, Townsend, they're all shite. And Andre have little or now clue. And and and.
Roma was not built in a day and it takes time to build a winning team. Spurs have bought many new players so it will take time for them to settle as a team, as well as individuals in a new country and league.
For sure, it would have been great if Spurs had added a quality LB and a big quality CF. but that is not due to lack of trying Spurs missed out but simply that they didn't want to be held at ransom. Besides, there isn't that many quality LBs around.

This is so true. It's one of the many parallels football has with religion (the stadium is the church, etc), as it's somewhere to turn to in times of despair, to dare to believe is an act of faith. However, when that belief is not rewarded, it can sometimes result in extreme emotional responses – a loss of faith, if you will.

Absolutely true.

Hope things work out for you work-wise by the way.

Believe it or not, Coys is worse right now imo. At least the ratings here kind of keep the number of people spouting off rubbish in check.

International break after losing a match is never nice as the bad thoughts are not easily wiped away. When it's a drab performance, against the Goons and we then go on an lose our best player (even though we all knew it was happening) then that negativity lingers a bit. Let fans vent a little and we'll be back on track soon enough.

Starting with choking some canaries in a week and a bit.

I saw something about ST holders/Armchair fans but i've not read every post in this thread so can someone please tell me which fraternity I am now in?

I've probably been to more games than BBLG has had wanks (and knowing him the numbers are impressive ;)) but I gave up my ST a while ago because I wasn't getting to many games although I still do about a dozen or so a year now, home and away. So I guess i'm more of an armchair supporter these days. Does my previous count or are my onions regarding Spurs now somehow less worthy?

I just want to keep up with the trends but for what it's worth, I think we need a new wing half, a didgerydoo and three buttplugs.

If that is a Euphemism, I am not sure that I could wait over a week!!!

Mate I never knew you were one of us. Be outside Oddie's at 7pm Friday night. I can't promise any canary choking but there will certainly be plenty of chickens being throttled.

And personally, I take offence to the term 'armchair' supporter after spending quite a bit of money on a sweet chaise sofa. Armchair indeed.

season ticket holders are the most best truest fans. i know this, not because i am one, but because they've told me.

They are certainly the most vocal. Vocal in telling everyone they have a season ticket.

I take it you rnot talking about Oddies Bar in Crewe.

Completely off topic I know but I went to a wedding in Crewe last year, and went to the Carvery at Oddies Bar on the Sunday.

The Full Works was only £3 per person!!!! Worth a visit if you ever find yourself lost in Crewe on a Sunday Afternoon!!

we are all equal here. just you will have to give up your seat on the bus if a season ticket holder wants it. As is their right.

The Winner is...Monty.

Please, can we hold the inquisition at the end of the season - cart before horse, much!

That notwithstanding, I have been staying away from Ozil-Gate, but let me just say, we had a stupendous TW. Bale wanted to go. We have bought seven players who bear the promise of vastly improving our squad while making a profit and not breaking the wage policy. RM have Levyed the Goons - selling them a player they didn't really need, much like RM and Bale, at an inflated price (IMHO). He is an excellent player, but doesn't really address what myself and many others consider to be their weakness, they were strong there, anyway, and it is one exceptional player where they could probably have done with four very good ones, meaning their squad still looks thin. Look at it this way, for the price of one player who didn't really want to leave RM and has the connotation of stepping down, we have bought Ericksen and Lamela.
The fact that they did their business at the last minute doesn't alter any of this or make our dealings this summer poor.

The OP is spot on it what he has said, and i agree.

As i have said on here before we have too many fans who because they can sit on their arses playing football puter games, winning the WC and such they think football/ life is the same in the real world. Most of them have probably never got of their arses and actually gone to games.

Speaking of ashamed and embarrassed, William Gallas just retweeted a 'spurs fan' who decided it would be appropriate to send him this message: 'fuck off you gooner ****.'

How can our own fans do that? What the fuck went wrong in their brains?

I know there is a thread going about negative fans, I thought this was slightly different in nature but if the mods want to merge then no problem. But yeah, over the last 48 hours I have been embarrassed, ashamed, and even disgusted by some of our fans (whether here on SC or elsewhere).

Firstly I've had to read multiple comments and threads absolutely slating some of our players, the very same players who put the shirt on week in/week out for you the fans. Of course booing happens at the games and scapegoats are sought out after losses...but after only 3 league games? Really? And with new players to the team and league> Players like Chadli and Soldado, closely followed by Rose, Walker, Dembele, Siggy. I just find it really sad and disappointing. As fans, surely our job is to get behind the team (especially the new players) and help push them on? And all this in the wake of the Arsenal match where we performed better than the previous 2 years, with a brand new team. Poor showing from some fans.

Transfers. This is where the anger really started setting in. Really there has been some ridiculous comments about our transfer. People saying it just wasn't good enough, saying they wanted Levy to do more! I'm lucky that I am old enough to have seen some truly magnificent players come and go at the Lane, but never in my lifetime have I seen a window where we strengthened so much at one time. We have internationals in abundance, we have future stars in the making, we have depth and quality. But no, just not good enough for some people. Some people wanted real world class talent without a second's thought that we can't attract such players because we aren't actually Barcelona in disguise. And by saying that the window isn't good enough and we need more does that, in essence, damn the current squad right from the start?? And a lot of this nonsense because a German lad moved in across the road.

Ozil. This is where I truly started to lose it. Yesterday I could have been forgiven for thinking I had accidentally logged on to an Arsenal forum, so rife were the posts about Ozil. Yes Arsenal signed a world class player...so what! Maybe I'm old fashioned but I believe in concentrating in my own team rather than worrying about others. If we perform to our ability, win matches and points, then it shouldn't really matter who the other teams bought. We only have to play them again once in the league, on our turf no less. What Oil does against other teams is of no concern to me as long as we pick up 3 points as well. Should Arsenal finish 2nd and we finish 3rd then, again, I really couldn't care. For me it is all about Spurs and nobody else except our opponents during a match. But suppose we play the game of studying them anyway...I see an a team who have bought a world class player for a position where one wasn't needed. Cazorla created more goal scoring chances last season than Ozil. Yet they are still incredibly thin, will still have a very weak bench, and still have the same weaknesses as before. Sure Ozil will help them but they would have been better off buying three cheaper players for the right position. Anyway, my point is what they do is unimportant, what we do is. Perhaps some fans need to focus more on their own team instead of coming off with suicidal comments about who Arsenal have bought.

I remember a thread on here asking why other team's fans seemed to hate us so much. Currently we have threads laughing at certain teams. It may come as no surprise that they, also, have threads laughing at Tottenham and, from what I have seen over the past couple of days, they have been given plenty of ammunition. We are Spurs fans, surely we are better than that? Perhaps we should all be thankful that we aren't United fans this morning!! So put away your gripes about who others bought, about what positions we didn't strengthen, etc. because we have assembled a remarkable young squad and the best I remember in many, many years. Get behind that team, support them without compromise, and dream because To Dare is To Do COYS!

I had been hiding away since transfer deadline day due to some of the total bilge I read...this has restored my faith mate
