Athletico contacted us on Thurs about Ramos..

Friday we got in touch with Portsmouth...

Apparently this will smooth over the compensation package with Ramos

I love it when fate plays a decent hand.

10m Ramos

?

If that is so which i doubt it is, its a fucking joke.

If we were 4th and decided that we wanted to change managers then yes he would be due a large compensation. But we have won 3 league games in 2008 and are bottom of the league, and for those reasons he has been sacked, why should he be due that much compensation.

I just dont think Ramos' style of management suited Spurs. Mostly, because we have so many British player here. I just dont think they are suited to the dynamic style of play Ramos uses. The likes of Giovani and Modric were ideal for it, but he would have needed to replace most of the British players for Spanish, Portuguese and South American players, for that style to work effectively. It showed with Bentley playing on the left for example. He just doesn't adapt to different roles as well. At least in Spain, the football is a lot more technical, aswell are the Spanish players. And lets not forget all the South American talent he had in Spain. The likes of Aguero and Forlan will suit Ramos to a T. Redknapp on the other hand is much better better suited to the English game (being English and all, and ramos being Spanish.)

Look at the financial world - I get the impression that the bigger the screw up - the bigger the payoff.

I supose Lawyers draw up the contracts - so let's all blame Stoof!

It still beats me why a Midfield Enforcer has never been on the agenda considering Ramos's perceived or rumoured signings. I was an obvious need to have one given that your midfield is as lightweight as 160 lbs each (soaked tracking suits and rocks in their pockets included).

To the point: did you see Modric against Bolton tonignt?
Who did not suited his style of play? Bentley? Huddlestone? Jenas?
Btw Robinho scored three tonight. Didin't see the goals yet but come on, it's ridiculous to say that too much English undermined JR's 'system'.
It's all about motivating players, I don't think that making English or Latin-tempered footballers play a decent game is much different.
