Ok, so its obvious to all us regular whl goers, that the atmosphere has been dropping off for a while now. Honestly, what atmosphere would people want? We have all seen how fans over europe act in our ground and their own and how good they sound and look. Would we like constant singing? Would people actually do it? What about flares and flags? Personally i would bloody love all of that but i can see how some people wont.

So whats your view? What do you want to see at the Lane? And can we make it happen? I.E arranging flags etc.

Or am i pissing in the wind with these ideas happening.

It's a 2-way street... The response of the crowd is a direct correlation to the efforts shown on the pitch. As I have alluded to in another thread SBN had it right...
"We must always consider our supporters, for without them there would be no professional football. It would be better to have more fans watching football the way they like it played, rather than have a few fans watching football the way we would like it played."

"The public can't be kidded. They know what they want to see, what is good and what is bad and what is just average. At least I believe they do."

If the crowd can see this from the players they will respond. The WHL faithful is a curious one... Give, and a team will be rewarded... Expectations however are huge... We have a very special club, and special supporters. Players need to remember where they are,

Wouldn't mind just a bit of singing. make it a bit uncomfortable for teams coming here. Playing at home is not really an advantage at the moment. I know the three games at home have been poor to say the least but the atmosphere is shocking at the moment.

Not in europe. They jump sing and do whatever, from the off and to the end, win or loose.

Its dropped since the champions league campaign where it was immense. I miss it. too many people with too much expectation. the only games we are up for are the big games. We almost give the lesser teams a free ride. We ALL need to sort out. everyone who goes needs to up it a notch,

Do it, liaise with the club and make it happened, Blue and white flares might be a bit to much, seeing as we are one of the most boring fanny fart excuses for country when it comes to be able to have fun and health and safety. But I am sure if done properly we can give it a more continental feel atmosphere to our more continental style of football.

Flags, confetti, drums, chanting, fucking awesome and it I think it beats booing o_O

Is this something that would be able to happen though? Has it ever been tried at the lane? Most of all, it needs people, us, them in the ground to do it.

Flares would be fucking boss, but I always thought they were illegal in UK hence why we never see them ?

I'd like to see flares!, more large banners flags, a sea of scarfs and more singing. Not too much to ask then ;-) ! One of those continental banners that covers an entire end with Vertonghen's face on it right now would be class :D

I'll tell you what the problem is and its not going to be easy to fix.

The average age at WHL creeps up every season. There are very few youngsters (16 -25) going to matches with their mates anymore. Simple reason they can't afford it and the tickets are unavailable.

It's all gone stale because we are all getting older. Its simple really. The place needs fresh blood.

All the 'boys' in the Park Lane are all getting on now and aren't making up new original funny songs and chants anymore. The songs are shit to be honest.

I'll give you an example. Our best player of the last 4 years Luka Modric had probably the worst ever player chant I have ever ever heard . No wonder he wanted to leave!!! (joke)

As I said not an easy fix!

I also think maybe age has something to do with it. People my age may be more open to these new things rather than the bloke whos been going to the lane for 30 odd years. Am i wrong?

Yeah, should be if planned properly, could even sell, cheap flags at the ground etc etc.

Wouldn't know about how to do it though, but I am sure some one the forum might.

And the FA can FO

Sorry to pick you up on this but that's the third time this evening that I've seen that god awful phrase "that would be boss"...... you sound like a scouser or just a plain Tw@. Come to think of it, they're both the same I guess. Please refrain from using that term again. Thank you kindly.
