People talk about atmosphere's in general in England and the UK. I think a quick look around Europe and it's clear they're pretty amazing and make English stadia look like the Emirates. Looking at Lazio and PAOK from last year, that wasn't a one off. PAOK are famed for their incredible atmospheres, and it makes a huge difference. Whilst they don't have the biggest budget in Greece, they always finish in the top four or five.

Another element that detracts from atmospheres are the policing and stewarding of the fans. Take the business with the head cams. What the fuck was that all about? It was ridiculous. Making you sit down, don't overdo the swearing, it all takes away from the passion.

There's not enough passion anymore, and that's because we're in a politically correct era, where it seems any witty banter song will be crucified, like when they made out the Campbell song was homophobic and racist, when it was referring to his psychological problems. I'm not saying it wasn't an OTT song, but people still interpreted it all wrong.

Na forget waiting for a result. This is about re doing the way we do things at the lane. The attitude has to be different not just 'sing when your winning'.

This, we are supposed to be supporters.

We need new Songs, ones that we can sing and ge the fans going again, the only problem these days are they have to be more PC than in the past or we get in trouble.

what about the most pc song ever...(unless clapping isnt pc)....

If youre tottenham and you know it clap your hands
clap clap
if your tottenham and you know it clap your hands
clap clap
Etcetc

perhaps we need to dumb it down more and give the tight lipped brigade the easy option of clapping.

quite an apt song too

Its not dumbing songs down for old people, it could be dumbing songs down so we can all sing them even after going to the pub (y)

I'll tell you what the problem is and its not going to be easy to fix.

The average age at WHL creeps up every season. There are very few youngsters (16 -25) going to matches with their mates anymore. Simple reason they can't afford it and the tickets are unavailable.

It's all gone stale because we are all getting older. Its simple really. The place needs fresh blood.

All the 'boys' in the Park Lane are all getting on now and aren't making up new original funny songs and chants anymore. The songs are shit to be honest.

I'll give you an example. Our best player of the last 4 years Luka Modric had probably the worst ever player chant I have ever ever heard . No wonder he wanted to leave!!! (joke)

As I said not an easy fix!

It's funny you say that, I had an amazing chant for Luka I wish could have caught on... to the tune of "snooker loopy"

"Super Luka nuts are we,
Him and you and them and me,
Watch him pass the ball with ease,
Were all Luka, Loopy."

Etc etc

I agree with the problem at the lane at the moment and it's a hard one... on the few chances I get to go (money reasons etc) it's been weird, I'd love to sing all through 90's mins but when everyone else around you in quiet you don't want to seem like the mentalist.

Although I did just have the thought of trying to get people singing with the line... "Have we turned into a library?? Were better than the Woolwich wonderers right?! Oh when the spurs...." and hope people get behind you... it does have to take a lot of courage, something that maybe I don't have on my own... but two or three people with some gusto could drum it up.... if we can get 3 or 4 groups like this around the ground, more so in the expensive areas I'm sure people would join in. It would have to be a choice by a few people... regardless of how they may end up looking. They could even try to get some new tunes going... sing them a few times so people can get the new lyrics and boom... a cult new chant could be born...

I think in everyones hearts they would like to sing a bit more...you can't beat the atmosphere but we need other people to start because we don't want to look like idiots on our own... it's a modern day thing. We are judged soo much more in modern day life and people are cruel but...

We are all one under the lights at WHL. So lets leave that shit at the turn stalls and become the 12th man once again.

Flares? Are you guys nuts?
They are dangerous and create smoke making it bloody annoying for all around, worse if thrown in the pitch.

Bloody stupid idea.

Singing, yeah, more of that please.

Didn't you know Riandor, flares are very big and very very clever. They are completely safe as well, a child could operate them. Bring on the flares ! ;)

I've been to a few league games for European clubs - Milan, Cologne and Leverkusen (twice) - and the atmos was worse than at the Lane. Some clubs have great support, most don't. And the ones making a noise at the Lane in Europe are having their big night in London.

how many times have you been to watch a standard league match in a european league? i've been to a good few games and in my experience you're quite wrong.

You know what i mean. Your just picking holes but fine, SOME European teams. There we go.
