That AVB video turned me on.. I actually feel horny now.
What the fuck.

On a more serious note, Fantastic coaching drill by AVB... Really enjoyed it.

When I didn’t finish the season with Chelsea, the club ended up winning the Champions League.

‘You have to give the players credit but I was the one who built the team’.

Respect to AVB

I seem to recall someone pointing out that only two players AVB signed actually played in the final.

This post is why there should be a "love" rating, instead of just "like."

The closest I could get was "friendly", so you'll have to do with that :playful:

Haha AVB's spent too much time there already. He'll have eyebrows like Brezhnev soon.

Mainly great results-horrid play under AVB. I so want Zenit in the EL.

Aren't Zenit like the Man City of Russian football too? Almost impossible to fail there.

To be honest it's a great career move for AVB and repair his reputation somewhat. I still can't see him ever being successful in one of the bigger leagues though.

I agree and I think this is the type of move he should have made after losing his job at Chelsea

Not that I blame him for taking our job and believing in his abilities though I think it was foolish of Levy to see him as the man to take over at that time

I wouldn't write him off completely - I think if he can have a successful couple of seasons out there in Russia and develop his managerial skill set its possible he could go on to be a good and successful manager in a top league

Both kyle walker and ashley cole have said what a great coach he was in training, Still very young. Maybe not quite the all round package as a manager, you can't sack guys like this after 1.5 seasons like we did.

Cole and Walker's opinions are probably drown out by many other players with opposing opinions at both Chelsea and Arsenal

It's a crazy claim of his to have the nerve to suggest he deserves any credit for the team going on to win the CL after his dismissal - arrogant and delusional beyond belief if he really said what is quoted here

We were not wrong to sack him after 1.5 seasons in my personal opinion - Levy was wrong to hire him in the first place

That said, as I have said many times before I do think he has the potential to go on to be a top manager. He just got ahead of himself by being overhyped with his Porto/Jose links and was chucked in the deep end before he was ready and sunk

This Zenit job is perfect for him and the type of job he should have gone to after his sacking from Chelsea (or even straight from Porto had Roman had as much sense as money)

I can see him going on to a Seria A job and doing well if he wins the league in Russia and maybe in a few years being able to come back to the Prem and doing well. He seems to have the drive and passion required and he's tactically motivated, with experience these tactics can become more adaptable and he will be able to apply them better

I wouldn't be at all shocked if he was successful in the long run but I personally don't think he would have turned things around for us and was rightfully sacked, wrong man/wrongclub/wrongtime

Did you just mix us up with Arsenal?

Should never have let him go.
Should never have hired

In my opinion he set in motion much of the shit we see today and it's all been a knock on effect since his appointment especially after Bale left and stopped papering over the cracks he'd created

I don't think we'd be any better placed had we kept him - say perhaps for a little consistency
