I agree that it turned out to be a very bad appointment and it doesn't reflect well on the man who made it.

Things work both ways though in terms of dishonesty, we've had it said before that AVB is a bullshitter and a master of 'charming someone at the interview'... Lets just take the evidence with us, on his appointment we got the reasons why, one of them being the club and, then him, speaking about how they were looking forward to developing the young players at the club, the academy etc etc. What we got was a manager about as reluctant to give opportunities as you can get. So what's that about false promise, Andre...

I've seen this said many times. But I have never once seen, read or heard AVB say this, about integrating the academy players. What is the evidence you have ?

I'm not saying it isn't true, I'd just like to see it for myself.

AVB put himself forward as a great coach - and was hired to improve players.

No loss when he left

Improved Bale. Drastically.

But the elephant in the room is Bale - AVB's tactics won few matches, individual brilliance from Bale did.....and it showed when Bale decided he wanted to leave.

But we had more points the following season without Bale at he time AVB was sacked than we had with Bale the previous season the same stage.

Doesn't quite stack up your theory does it ? You seeing phantom elephants ?

I haven't seen an actual quote from the club about AVB and VDV. Have you ?
http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/381093.html

Bc youre doing an avb and distorting the truth. Jj didnt deny it he just said it was a combination of factors. However I know for a fact one of those factors was avb. He played siggy pre season instead of vdv in his role. Avb didn't like vdv wanting to be the centre of attention and that also doesn't fit with how he builds teams. He didn't like how he operated as a free spirit and wanted him to be more rigid which siggy was prepared to do. Vdv wasnt willing to sit on the sidelines or adapt at this stage of his career. Of course there were other factors but vdv leaving actually in the end suited both player and manager. Had avb done more and involved vdv more then I am 100% certain he would have stayed.

Yes.

There's a bit at the bottom that carries on after the quote. It's on a par level of trust as to what Villas-Boas said.

Where's the quote from the club ?

What does "had a hand in" mean ?

We know for a fact VDV's sale (to Hamburg particularly) was being discussed before AVB arrived and way before the "you have to fight for your place/you're in my plans I'd like you to stay" thing.

Had a hand could mean Levy says "if we sell VDV I'll try and sign Moutinho" and AVB saying "yes I'll go for that".

JJ told me long before, that Levy was keen to cash in and VDV was keen to go back to Hamburg and that if the right money was on the table he thought a deal would be done.

Even in the worst case scenario VDV himself said AVB told him he wanted him to stay.

What I would like to know is if this is not true, then someone to actually say what the correct version actually is, because no one has.

I sent you a PM a long time ago from a guy who said he would never say what he knew on a forum but naturally...you didn't believe it.

You won't believe VDV (actual quotes), you won't believe a club spokesman, you won't believe anything because you don't want to.

You can put that in inverted commas and call it a quote if you want.

JJ iterated in the ITK forum that Levy would listen to offers for 'any' player, but that didn't mean he would actually sell him/them.
