Naugton does make me nervous. Shame he won't get time at right back and this might affect his confidence.

and how do you expect them to settle if they dont get game time? they have to play in the premier league and they have to play in the spurs XI otherwise they'll never get used to it

I think Caulker is just young and learning the game at that level. He will be immense in the future.

Only problem I have with Naughton is that he is right footed and when you play him behind Bale we don't have enough width. If Bale wants to roam around the pitch then we need BAE who can go down the left and stretch teams more.

Stop playing Naughton at LB, full stop. Naughton was too far forward and didn't chase back resulting in Caulker being pulled to the left to try to cover. But he was a bit late resulting in an uncontested cross that led to their goal.

I don't know if it's a new trend but I've noticed it a lot since the summer. People only fucking complain, our players are shit, the manager is shit blah blah blah. I left Reddit due to the constant negativity there and SC is starting to become such a downer aswell.

I think when naughton is played LB he might need a left footer next to him at CB where caulker is right footed. Although this is "maybe it would be better if...." kind of thought rather than those kind of well thought out ones with real reasoning :)

Just remember the content and happy are rarely heard, its the people who wanna slag off who but in and make it out that the whole community is like that. I really enjoyed today and dont begrudge a player to play poorly, its not like he does it on purpose. Im sure every player gave 100% today and every other game ive seen played especially this season.

Caulker looked good enough when Benoit came on. Naughton is a good player but he really isn't good enough for us, he'll do a good job for someone but not really us, sorry, I'm not being nasty and he isn't useless he just isn't up to it.

He's a right back being played out of position, not a genuine right-footed LB like Leapy Lee (who was actually pretty poor at RB). I don't think it's possible to judge whether he's good enough until he's had a chance in his proper position—and it's certainly not fair to do so.

AVB seems to have a pretty good idea of what he's about, so why some of us feel the need to tell him what to do I have no idea. And really, when we've won a potentially tricky game with some ease, why this negativity? It's seriously depressing.

AVB should stop playing Kyle Naughton.

Full stop.

Almost impossible to reply to this post without being insulting. I'd have given him a couple of games at RB to give Walker a kick and he's had some very solid games even at LB.

Or we could just fuck him off despite being one of the most talented young British defenders of his generation.

Naughton needs games. For goodness sake, he's our third choice fullback (you need two!) and willing to play either side. Tough crowd around here.
