Almost impossible to reply to this post without being insulting. I'd have given him a couple of games at RB to give Walker a kick and he's had some very solid games even at LB.

Or we could just fuck him off despite being one of the most talented young British defenders of his generation.

Insult me all you want sweetheart, don't hold back. If you rate 25 year old League One Graham Norton it says more about you. I don't get upset by red crosses, the guy is dogshit.

I've just heard Kyle Naughton be described as;

"One of the most talented British defenders of his generation"

Bugger me with a fish fork.

Naughton was terrible today in the subtle art of being a left back .... tackles with the wrong foot, caught looking over the wrong shoulder, slows play down to get the ball on his right foot and the ball inside him was always on - doesn't make him a bad fullback just a bad left back which isn't necessarily his fault.

Caulker is imo our 5th best CH why he started today I don't get .....

Naughton didn't have the best game today, and the game was crying out for benny to come on, and we looked more solid when he did. Newcastle targeted the left side all game, but we just needed a naturally left sided player down there.
He's done ok, and will learn from today

He's a right back being played out of position, not a genuine right-footed LB like Leapy Lee (who was actually pretty poor at RB). I don't think it's possible to judge whether he's good enough until he's had a chance in his proper position—and it's certainly not fair to do so.

AVB seems to have a pretty good idea of what he's about, so why some of us feel the need to tell him what to do I have no idea. And really, when we've won a potentially tricky game with some ease, why this negativity? It's seriously depressing.
It's not negativity SS57 it's just observation.

Naughton has been playing out of position all season, put Defoe in Bale's position on the left wing and he'd be shite, I think he needs to be given a chance in his more natural postion of RB for people to develop a better opinion as to whether he is good enough for our club or not.

RB is not his natural position, he's has been shunted to LB all his career because he's not good enough to hold a position at RB.

25 year old pretender, League One is calling.

Its interesting that this is the first time that caulker hasn't formed a partnership as previously he was always playing with the first choice CB whereas now he is being chopped and changed

At both Bristol and Swansea, Caulker was very composed and very good at organising the defence especially at Bristol and definitely the swansea fans felt him in the team improved the composure of the players around him, I think he now needs to get use to being chopped and changed unfortunately some players dont handle that well like Bassong who looked awesome one season and shite the next

I came into SC tonight seriously expecting a happy SC full of positive threads after the important win today.

Fuck sake.

Your hardly new around here, what the fuck did you expect. Bunch of miserable wankers on here!!!!

We didn't win 6-0 so expect a series of threads wanting to know why.

Of his generation sounds dramatic but name more than 5 22yrs and under British full backs that are better than him.

Caulker may be our 5th best but he's had England call ups and is a quality young CB for sure. No reason not to give him games and keep him fresh should we get injurys. if he had a run of games with an experienced partner or sb like Vertonghen or Kaboul ppl would be wanking themselves silly over him again.

I guess this thread is evidence that people still dont understand the need for squad rotation. Dark age cretins are everywhere.
