AVB in my opinion is more deserving of the sack than Ramos was (who fully deserved the sack)

Its not really a matter of us making mistakes in sacking managers too soon - its Levy and whoever else has input in such decisions making mistakes when determining who to appoint in the first place.

This time Levy and Baldini have to get it right - AVB was always a disaster waiting to happen, his time at Chelsea illustrated that. I just don't understand why he was hired in the first place after that

Sorry i disagree, but it is all about opinions. We will appoint another manager, which will bring in different backroom staff, new players in and out, new formations and IF they do not work after ( say 12 months) the fans will be screaming for another change. Same o, Same o.

Sack our most successful manager in Redknapp

???

You having a laugh? What did he win?

It may be quite some time before anyone matches his two fourth place finishes.Until that's equaled, let alone surpassed, he's entitled to a bit of respect.

What a f**king pathetic thing to say. How about you do a win percentage for Barca taking out Messi or Madrid without Ronaldo. Top players win games and good managers give them the platform to perform at their best, AVB did that for Bale.

Sad day for Spurs. Since AVB's arrival we have lost all our WC talent (King, Modric, VDV and Bale) and have set about totally rebuilding the squad (added Lloris, Vertonghen, Chirches, Paulinho, Dembele, Capoue, Lamela, Eriksen, Holtby, Sigurdsson, Chadli, Adebayor, Soldado, [Probably can count Towsend & Rose]). Yet last season saw us gain a record amount of points and AVB gain one of the highest PPG ratios of any of our managers. Adding 7 players this summer really did need us to allow him at least a season to get them playing the type of football we love, yet again we have booted a manager too early.

Sad day. Thanks for the memories AVB. I can't see far past Capello as our next manager as we have Fun time Frankie in the DoF slot, I wonder what the boo boys will be saying about our football with Capello running the show.

Sums it up for me.

The thing is, the team tends to play well around Messi and Ronaldo. Bale was having to pull worldies out of his arse consistently because we couldn't create.

At least Adebayor will be back I guess. Think he is important for us.

I just never saw any vision in how AVB wanted us to play as a football team. Aside from the odd game/half the performances have been average at best both this season and last. I haven't enjoyed watching us play and we look really unbalanced at times this year. I could stomach the performances when the results were generally positive but mix crap performances with 5/6 nils and I personally am glad his gone.

It's going to be Deadwood in a care taker roll until the end of the season, mark my words. It will seriously test my support if that happens.
I'm having nightmares just thinking about it. Unless Levy has got the next fall guy lined up already, I can see him getting the gig for the West ham game, winning it and convincing Levy to give him the job until the summer, where he'll watch the world cup, see Bob Smith take Nevis & St Kitts to the QF and give him the job based on that. 70-odd games later (I think that's the average our managers last) we're all here again.

Now to picking the new manager...

Better hope he doesn't play inverted wingers or pick Dawson, Naughton, Defoe etc...
I hope the players know they let AVB down, as some of them could've now played their last game for this club.

The only thing a new manager achieves for me is it takes a bit of pressure of the players. The crowd unrest will alleviate (albeit briefly if history is anything to go by)

A lot of Spurs fans seemingly want us to play "attacking football" which seems (to them) to mean 2 up front and two wingers, now i don't know many modern coaches that play that way in top leagues. I would be happy to see someone that can build on the possession game we already had (before reverting to 4-4-1-1) and add better movement and more progressive/incisive passing.

Sad day really, these players (those same ones on youtube really enjoying life) need to realise that their everyday lives can be seriously effected by what they and their team mates do on that pitch. Even players that may not be getting in the team thinking "i don't care it can't get any worse for me" oh yes it can. you could have someone that doesn't want you and takes all the joy out of your daily work.

oh well another transition period, yay. :(

Levy has done a great job in getting this club in a sound financial position. But he hasn't got a clue when it comes to understanding what it takes to put a successful team on the pitch. The only successful managers that we've had under his regime have been Jol and Redknapp. And the way he handled both of those sackings was a disgrace.

Remember - Levy wanted Santini, but after that disaster he had to turn to Jol to get us out of trouble. But he never wanted or appreciated Jol, so as soon as the opportunity presented itself, he fired big Martin and got Ramos instead. Another epic failure, and had to turn to Harry to rescue the club from the potential of relegation. But again, you always knew that ol' Harry's face never fitted with Levy's vision of 'his' club. So again, despite finishing 4th, he found some excuse to sack Harry and get in his man, AVB. Now, here we go again....

Hopefully this time, Joe Lewis will see that a change is needed in the boardroom too.

Disagree with that mate I think Levy is one of the best in the business and was really unlucky with AVB

What I meant was replacing modric and vdv with dempsey and sigurdsson.Tell me they are better players

Do you think those two were Levy's choices?

There were plenty of rumours that VdV wasn't included in AVB's plans. Although the ostensible reason for his departure was that he wanted to be closer to Sylvie (that worked out really well, didn't it?), look back over the quotes he came out with that summer.

Whatever, it's all water under the bridge now. I don't believe Levy can escape censure, because he decided to sign AVB and must have realised there was an element of risk involved. Didn't we all? Nevertheless, it was a decision made in the club's best long-term interests, because simply on the grounds of his age we'd probably gone as far as we could with Harry. Another season, sure, but further ahead?
