I can see why AVB has been sacked, but only if we actually have a replacement lined up. If that replacement is an interim manager then IMO it's a mistake. If that manager we wait for is Capello then it will be one of the most disappointing moments in my Tottenham supporting life. Having him going "I'm very onorid" - trying to say honoured.

That defect against Liverpool and the manner in which we capitulated was unacceptable knowing Levy past histroy the writing was on the wall.

I'm pissed off with the sack culture we have at Spurs Levy for all the good his done has too handicapped mangers with delayed transfers haggling for the best deals and selling our best player. why we never stand by our decision is a head scratcher Imo AVB should have been given to the end of the season, now we're back to square one....chasing our own tail

Whats our next move now?

Some of our fans and people running the club need to realise we can't keep sacking managers
We also need to realise CL football could be ruining our long term development chasing the dream and falling short season after season just puts toooo much pressure on the next man coming in. There's no shame taking a step back to move forward I really thought AVB was on the right track but that's football.

Moyes Rodgers will be given time and by the time we've gone through our next set of mangers they'll be out of sight. AVB has gone now suppose ni point crying over spilt milk but imo we should of grew a pair and stayed with it.

Any news on the other staff? Surely his two fellow Portuguese yes-men are gone. Freund I would spare the axe, he seemed to get pushed out fairly quickly, only appointed because he would be useful early on knowing the club somewhat.

If Freund is apponted caretaker then we can all assume Klinsman is coming home after the WC. Thats what I think will happen.

He's won stuff in Holland. That doesn't mean much. He's managed two of our players? Again that's irrelevant.

Don't get me wrong I'd like De Boer. But just wanted to know why people would choose him over Laudrup who has more experience.
Laudrup may have more experience, but he doesn't have a very impressive record. My impression is that Swansea fans aren't too happy with him either.

The perfect caretaker boss surely has to be Freund? He's passionate about the club, wants us to succeed and knows the players.

I have no idea, who could be the saviour. Only got what i think is unrealistic wishes. Klopp, Klinsmann etc

However in my FM14 save with Dortmund, AVB took the job at Manchester United around december, and our club was around 5-6 if i recall.. Guus Hiddink took over and finished 2th. Maybe it's a bizarre sign? :D:D:D

Thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure Freund must have piped up about tactics etc. and was subsequently frozen out.

Hence we didn't see him leaping out of his seat or even sitting next to AVB much for that matter.

Winning things in Holland means more than winning nothing...ever.

Managing our players before is relevant, when a new manager comes in they normally want to bring in their own men, players they know and trust who will be their lieutenants in the dressing room. De Boer already has these in place.

He's been pulling down our football club by getting the best win ratio of any manager for us in the premier league era? attracting big players? record points totals? Beating Man U at Old Trafford for the first time since the Jurassic period (back when it was difficult to beat Man U)?

Is that how he's been pulling us down?

I look forward to Levy's next change in direction and sacking in 18 months time when whoever he hires this time can't bring champions league football on a £0 net spend.

It's funny though something has drastically gone wrong since then. Dembele looks half the player that he did in that match. He still has moments and odd games but it's like he doesn't really know what his role is anymore. The same could be said for other players in the team.

He'd seriously lost direction and this was a car crash waiting to happen.

Laudrup may have more experience, but he doesn't have a very impressive record. My impression is that Swansea fans aren't too happy with him either.

I think the problem is they are trying to combine Europa and League and they don't have the squad for it. We do and we still can't manage it.

Fair point, I'd completely forgotten about Laudrup. I'd put him in the same bracket as De Boer probably, not 100% convinced as yet, but wouldn't be the worst choice.

I think Laudrup seems to be suffering a bit of Second Season Syndrome, hence some people's scepticism about him. Admittedly their squad is being stretched a bit more than it probably should be, but then under Jol we went from playing 40 games one season to 60 the next and still maintained the same final league position.
