What has been said to suggest that he has lost the dressing room?

Just based on observing the attitude/posture of the players,.... I never asked any of them, but I don't see a team rallied by AVB,... they only seem to clash with him... only my opinion, nothing more... :bookworm:

I'd be a lot more inclined to back AVB if there was even the slightest indication that our play was improving.

Unfortunately though I see absolutely no improvement in our play or much indication that AVB knows how to turn things around.

Our remit this season was undoubtedly finish top 4 though but then it's not black and white to suggest that Andre's seat is purely dependent on it.

I appreciate what your saying re better attacking football and that's something we all crave but then this season was always deemed to be transitional with all the trials and tribulations attached.

Maybe things will get worse before they get better but it goes without saying the next few weeks are pivotal and telling in whether Daniel backs his horse, as he did fantastically in the summer and looks longer term or looks to the fire button for an immediate response.

Hard to say which one will prove more effective come the end of the season but we need strong leadership in every facet of this club to steer us through and ultimately hope for the best.

Mate I don't think Levy would of viewed it as transitional per se, certainly AVB's remit wouldn't be fourth if that were the case.

I don't know if he has lost the dressing room or not, but there were signs towards the end of the first half today that some of the players were frustrated.

human nature. I look like that when i get beat at FIFA.

There should be heated words spoken in the dressing room. I would fuckign well demand it. Its the least I would expect.

Perhaps, but with the level of player turnover we've had over the summer it's going to bring the inevitable teething troubles.

Problem is, these 'teething troubles' should really have been ironed out by now and there is a clear structure and best 11 going forward yet unfortunately we are regressing and worryingly, lacking in direction.

I honestly don't know what the best course of action will be but I want to believe it's backing our man for once but it goes without saying, shit needs to improve pretty darn quick!

I would be interested to know why mate. I thought even though the newcastle game was a disaster, It really consisted of 1 poor pass that led to their goal. The second half provided us a glimpse of just how good we can really be and we were unfortunate not to score tbh.

The game today was a total shambles and I felt Avb got completely confused as to what to do. At 3-0 down it was really damage limitation and Avb just did not see it and went for a 4-4-2, This made us even worse. This game today reminded me more of his last day's as Chelsea boss.

As bad a result it was losing to Man City and to be honest i'm not too sure about AVB in terms of how we're set up to play going forward...I think we should stick with AVB at the very least to the end of the season.

6 nil is a very poor result and thats 4 games in a row without scoring in the EPL- I was all for possession football thb i still believe over a course of a season were more likely to be success but clearly it makes no sense having all that ball with little to show for it.

Indeed. Regardless of the changes, we should be seeing more than we are in our attacking play - that's all I know.

I think this is the reason this thread has so many agree's when a few weeks ago it would be negs. I just wonder how long we are supposed to give him? How many embarrassing defeats (manner just as much as score).

No way. Not ever. Was this season going to be transitional. This is the stuff that is holding us back.

well apparently he said he is considerig 4-4-2 with Ade in the side, so he's going to roll the dice a little.

Because now something has to change. We cant hide from a 6-0 stuffing. There is no ' we deserved to win'/ 'if only krul blah blah''just need to click' excuses that can cover this.

It brings things to a head. And rather than tread water waiting for things to magically fall into place, the whole 'gelling' excuse, we not can demand shit happens.

And I genuinely thought that there has been a shift in AVBs thought patterns this week and he has shown some flexibility in his thinking... it was just probably entirely the wrong game and fucking entirely the wrong start to the game and entirely 6 months later than it should have been.

He is not an idiot, but he is a stubborn self confident fucker. Its hard to be arrogant or insist everything is going to plan when you are being humiliated, shakes up your belief system.

eyes wide open.

He said he was considering going 4-4-2 for today's game, but ended nothing came from it.

Unfortunately, I'm increasingly convinced that AVB knows no other way to set a team up.

well he better consider it harder. we simply dont have a player currently capable of playing #10 week in, week out. at least not effectively.
