Hopefully he gets the players he wants and not the ones he's given.

He said what he needed too. What is he suppose to say, "The squad isn't talented enough to compete?" AVB just doesn't want to light the chair that he is sitting on, on fire.

Toothless little cretin, chip on his shoulder? Because he didn't have the ability to handle the physicality of the league and scuttled off to an inferior one.

As much as I don't welcome Eduardo's input, EnfieldYiddo, he suffered a sickening injury.

Meh. Don't know why the guy has to get involved - What's it with these players having to announce these kind of opinions in public? Clearly attempting to have a dig at us.

First off: I hate to hear of a guy who I really wanted have his teammate state we aren't good enough for him. Hopefully that has no pull with Willian.

Second: Why'd it have to be Eduardo because I really didn't want the image of his dangling foot in my mind again.

What's that coming out of your sock?

To me, that injury is on level with the one Marcus Lattimore recently suffered. Just makes you realize how fragile we can be. And also how fucking gross it is when you get hit the wrong way. Barf-worthy stuff.

Eduardo obviously isn't as clever as he thinks he is.

Man U signed Kagawa in the summer who has to get past Rooney to get into the team.

Chelsea have Mata, Hazard and Oscar who are all very comfortable in Willian's role - it's probably their strongest area on their squad and they actually need midfield grafters and centre forward cover far more then another attacking midfielder.

I think he just wanted to put his foot down and tell Willian that he had a bone to pick with us.

I think with Willian it comes down to us and Juventus. And with Italian sides never seeming to spend that much money, I really doubt they would be serious enough to get him. I see Man United going hard for Wanyama, Chelsea going hard for Falcao, and Man City will be looking for a new manager (I kid... or do I?). Not sure what Arsenal might be after, but if I'm them I'd start with defenders who don't try their damnest to put the ball in their own net.

I think Willian could be what the doctor ordered for this side (And Clasie too, please?). Someone who, ya know, has more than an ounce of creativity to their game.

Juventus will be buying a striker in this transfer window, I don't see them spending the money on Willian for depth when they NEED another option up front.

AVB needs to pull a signing out of the hat that isn't completely obvious to everyone. His in-depth knowledge of Portuguese footy led to the amazing insight that he wanted a 30 million midfielder from there. If that's the extent of his insight in Europe and Brazil, then we're in trouble. Players like Vertonghen are somewhat out-of-the-box players that are achievable for us to sign. I don't buy the BS circulating around here about Moutinho and Willian for a second. First of all, we don't have the money, and secondly, they'll probably be snapped up by an oligarch club if they are available. We could all be decent managers if we could spend 55 million on a couple of players. The trick for AVB would be to pull the finger out in terms of identifying players within our price range (which isn't a trivial amount) without such a spotlight on them and then coach them into being the next Modric, Bale, Vertonghen for us.

You're probably right.

I actually saw us linked back with Daniel Osvaldo from Roma. Wouldn't mind that one bit. My preference is obviously Aubameyang or Emenike, but Osvaldo would be a decent fallback.

He's getting more and more popular, but James Rodriguez would be a PHENOMENAL signing. That kid is going to be a star. And within the next year will be priced out of our range (if he hasn't been already).

He's 21, and I would be plenty fine with giving up 25m for him. Plays for Porto as well so I'm sure AVB has some ties to learn more about him. There's no real reason for Porto to sell him, however. But ugh, I can dream can't I?

I don't know what will happen, but the whole transfer window scares me. There are a bunch of big money clubs rumored with many of our failed summer targets (and to be January ones). I believe we have missed out on many of these players. Second, Adebayor has been linked with a few clubs, including Atletico Madrid, who will probably lose Falcao. I could really see us loosing Adebayor to an in-need Atletico, trying to spend the money last minute on a creative midfield and striker (possibly Negredo/Aguero/Ba) and missing out on all of them.

And, the worst part is, I can say 'I hope Levy acts quickly and early and learns from this Summer.' But then I realize he does it to himself every time so why should it change now?

To be quite honest, I wish Dempsey never happened and we would have taken a portion of that money and put it to Moutinho. We'd be much better off as a club right now.
