He definitely deserves a song. So does Charlie come to that. Felt a bit sorry for Charlie when Hutton came on and immediately got the Super Al song.

He is showing the form that he had in his first pre-season with us. Shows how important giving players time and belief is. I think the settled line up and formation also helps, he is linking up well with Luka, and his defending is improving a lot. And the afro is awesome

i remember seeing him in a few of those games and telling my mates we have a real player - looks like i can spot a player - just takes a few seasons :)

"Come with me
And you'll be
In a world of
Pure imagination
he's Corluka
a figment of yo'
imagination

He'll begin
With a spin
Drink it in;
The skills of our Croatian

What you'll see
Will defy
Explanation

If you want to view paradise
Simply look at Luka's best mate
He'll serve up class on a plate!
Jealous? Please don't hate.
a mighty Yid who
ain't a Jew.

There is no
Wingback I know
To compare with
Our Vedran Corluka
On his head,
On his knee,
He'll truly put the fear up thee

He's been MOTM imo a few times since our resurgence. Fantastic player. LB sorted! Million times better than Wipey!

Not, not at all.

Back to them days, Wipey was a 28 year old who came to us with a wealth of experience in the game and a very astute footballing brain. He was under-appreciated massively, slated unfairly by many yet never really put a foot wrong. The reason BAE will get the plaudits is for his improvement, not his actual skill.

Yes, he's shown he can play incredibly well and has improved his game immensely, compared to when he first arrived, but that's due to age and commitment. Wipey didn't have much to improve on his game, he was a solid, old fashioned left back when we got him.

how long is his contract for? have to keep him from thinking about france this summer - though i do think those quotes were taken out of context, someone probably just asked him if he ever planned on returning. he's a nailed-on starter with this form and he looks pretty happy to me :D

I'll happily admit I was very, very wrong about BAE. He looked half decent when he first arrived, but last season I absolutely slated him after some disgusting performances.

He's become, this season, a very solid LB with an ability to be a good outlet for the team. There's still the odd small mistake here and there, and he can be a bit rash at times, but he's definitely light years ahead of the player we initially signed, and much closer to the player we were told we were getting.

Still, I loved Edman and YPL loads and still have a soft spot for them both.

I think it also helps the lad that he's had Luka to his front and Woodgate & King to his right - with three influential, smart and fluent players like them surrounding him he's in the best LB classroom possible, in my humble* opinion.

Did BAE actually make any appearances last season? I thought he as injured for the whole of it.

Just wanted to say what an improvement I''ve seen in him in the last few weeks.

I went to Portsmouth a few months ago and he was absolutely shocking but I think he's done pretty well lately

Still has alot of things to work on but has improved and will hopefully go from strength to strength now

Well done mate

a comolli signing that was low lost high benny-fit - just one example that coaching has occurred under 'arrys team which was never evident with ramos and jol
