Mancini quote: "I like 1–0 wins. When you don't concede a goal and you have players like Edin Džeko, Carlos Tévez or David Silva, you win 90%. I prefer we are boring for two to three matches and we win 1–0. If you watch teams that won titles, they conceded very few goals.

Doesn't sound like a Spurs coach to me..
No, do you think we'd prefer losing 0-6 away or 5-0, 3-0 at home?
I'm done with the Spurs way!
What have we achieved with the Spurs way?! I wasn't even born when we won the league! I was in my teen when we won FA CUP and in EUROPE!
Stuff the Spurs way and as long as we win 1-0 and not lose, i can no longer give a shit!
I'm fed up being laughed at by Pool, Arse, Man Ure, Man Shitty, Chelski fans...not to mention all the PL team fans!

How depressing.

We need to re group as a club. We are still in a decent place in the league. The season isn't lost.

Levy needs too pull some thing out of the hat.
THIS! Well said my friend!!

How have we suddenly become a club in crisis? Two weeks ago we were sitting pretty.

By general consensus, I hope levy steps down as chairman at the end of this season, if we continue to keep capitulating.

Baldini has done a cracking job imo. Hope he's here for a long time to come and establishes himself as the football honcho at the club, being the DoF and all. A couple less voices wouldn't go amiss for mine.

I just wish Levy would stop with this whole Director of Football structure.

It is nothing personal against Baldini, I just don't understand how anybody in that positon can 'help' a Manager

Which clubs have made a success of it? Especially in England?

I don't care anymore.

I am so fed up with the whole thing now that I won't bothering going/watching/listening.

It's just a constant soap opera and I hate Eastenders.

<sigh/>

It's just getting good man. Don't bail. Sure, football-wise this could be the start of another 20 yrs in the wilderness and being the butt of jokes but man, things are happening now at least. This is familiar for me. Almost comforting.

Draaaa-maaaa.

Levy will soon have as many ex Directors of Football as ex Managers

Pretty impressive

So when we were chasing the title Levy wouldn't give Harry a new striker and instead gave him Nelson and Saha.

He then gives Baldini, who's not yet a part of the fabric of our club 100Million to spend on players.

AVB wanted 30 million Soldado but has since left. Baldini wanted 30 million pound Lamela but might leave.

This doesn't make footballing or business sense. What a shit show!!!! An absolute fucking expensive catastrophe of a mess.

We seem to be getting caught up in the belief that a manager has to have the players he wants or he cannot function and vice versa. It doesn't work like that. Any new manager will look to make the best use of the squad he can. These are good players, any manager coming to us will want them. (you may get anomalous instances of two people just not working together, like Adebayor say, but you can't account for that.)

I fail to see how a DOF working with a manager can't help him. The nub of it being if they work together. If I was a manager of a team the last think I'd want to be doing is be flying around chatting up players or spend hours in front of videos. If you don't have a DOF you generally have scouts and a chief exec that handles the business side of it. Hardly a world apart.

Yep. We have a lot of very good young players. At the very the least an incredibly strong platform for any new guy to build on when they join. The problem attracting a new guy of the calibre we all want to this club is most certainly not going to be the quality of our squad.

I personally wouldn't touch us with a barge-pole.

Genuine question, what job as he done? Apart from Lamela the targets have been on our radar for sometime, especially Soldado.
If he is getting credit for negotiating I'm pretty confident Levy could have done it. I just still see the figure of Levy and to a lesser extent Sherwood, looming over everything.

It has got f all to do with structure of the club.

It is all to do with the people at the top being about as patient as a hyperactive kid in a toy store.

They spent the grand total of £5 million over the summer and are demanding the right to win the league...

The clubs is in a total state of cluster fook right and to be honest, the fans are a part of problem as well, with so many unrealistic expectations.

We need Baldini.

We also need a manager to be given time and not to worry about winning things, just get us playing attacking football, develop the youth and we can be pushing for trophies later. But no, not spurs, we do so much right, but then get one or two bits so catastrophically wrong and the pressure to win placed on people is one of them.

I would have been more than happy with AVB, if AVB's instructions were get us playing the attacking football you craved and don't worry about the results so much, we know that is going to take time. Then the fans would most likely have turned.

Football is screwed, unless you spend billions and buy trophies, you ain't gotta chance...

The DoF is much maligned but it's sensible when the right people are in the right jobs.

The DoF essentially splits the chairman role in footballing and non-footballing duties. As many has said how can Levy appoint a manager when he knows nothing about football? Or veto transfers? All that is now handled by Baldini and Levy now handles finance etc.

Remember all this in the match day thread, when you turn back into Mr Hyde.

And to be honest it works.

Look at the signing over the summer compared to previous years.

We have a great squad, Levy should just sit back, stop demanding this and that and just give the mangers time to develop the squad and game.

Like I have said a million times before, as long as we go out and put a performance in and those players walk of that pitch with their heads held high, I am more than happy, even when we lose.

I can get more angry with a win, than a loss.
