It was obvious really when you think about it but I honestly Gareth Bale has made a mistake in joining Ronaldo Madrid.

Watched the game last night and it really hit home for me. Every set piece was taken by Ronaldo. Everytime Madrid players looked for Ronaldo when an attacking oportunity arrives.

I cannot see where Bale is going to fit in. It's absolutely bizarre why Madrid signed him in the first place. They quite simply do not need him.

It would of been much better for Bale to stay at spurs for another 2 seasons or so and be the main man. He is going to be completely over shadowed by Ronaldo and can only see it going one way for him.

Another point is that the Spanish league is poor in comparison to the premier league. Don't care what people say the vast majority of clubs in the Spanish league are tin pot. How is this going to improve his game?!

As for brand Bale surely he would of been better off playing in the biggest game of the season yesterday in front of proper football fans in a white hot atmosphere being watched by millions all over the world. Instead he was on the periphery of a game that was quite frankly poor. And as for the atmosphere for a derby?! It looked like it was being played in front of tourists and seemed to lack passion compared to WHL yesterday.

You have made a huge mistake Mr Bale.

Meh. Time to let it go and move on.

I much prefer that we are now a team and not reliant on an individual

Let it go.. we are second in the Premiership, and have West Ham at home next week.

Still very early days, all he needs is one game where he gets the ball - does one of his runs and fires the ball hard into the net. Then he will be accepted and his career with Real will take off.

Watched the game and he was clearly trying too hard, when he came on he was poor.

IMHO it's far too early though to say he has made a mistake, the boy has so much talent and there will come a time when he gets a window of opportunity. The price tag and expectation that follows clearly do him no favours though and Ronaldo and his chums aren't going to make it easy for him.

Selling him has been good for us though, we have a great squad and quality all over the park, plus money to spend.

No offence to the OP, because he is getting enough and because I have always felt this, but I am much more interested in Ericksen and Lamela and Paulinho and etc.*, and in seeing if Siggy is going to continue improving, etc. I know some, especially younger members, try and watch every single football game that there is available to watch on TV, but aside from the German league, which is good viewing right now, I just don't bother that much. The Spanish league doesn't interest me that much, and I certainly won't be going out of my way to watch it just to see how Mr Bale is getting on. No harm to him, really, but it's gone, he's gone. COYS /of.

*Wow, I typed that, and then realised I hadn't even mentioned Soldado, never Capoue, Chiriches and Chadli - I think Hose-A is right, we won the TW :)

Are you the type of person who is also writing off Lamela and Soldado because they have not scored hat-tricks and Vlad because he can't make the starting 11?

Give the guy a chance, we all know how talented he is.

He's played less for Madrid than Lamela has for us. Are you writing Erik off?

They signed him as Perez's entire plan is try and sign the most expensive players in the world every season so he wasn't really needed.

It will be tough as Ronaldo is the big man there and Isco is certainly looking like their star signing this summer.

Also I'm sure he will miss London. Madrid is shit in comparison and Spain is in a mess with 40% youth unemployment!

The league is also corrupt! Anyone see that Madrid penalty in the weak?! Very dodgy.

Good decision Gareth!
