What a daft thread title and opening post.

Bale is better at left back, he's just also better then most on the left wing also.

I do love these threads where people jump on a bandwaggon rather than thinking long-term...

E.g. he could have to go back to left-back due to tactics / player availability and have a storming run there and someone will then start a thread called 'Bale, left midfielder? Really?'.

see, he isn't.
Dont matter if he is LB or LM he still produces the same performance.

He plays them both just as well as each other when given a run in that position.

Cyril Knowles reincarnate.

Exactly the comment I made very recently - he reminds me of him a lot, especially now that he's finding the back of the net as well as displaying all his other skills and his speed.

He is also developing wonderful tactical and positional awareness.

As Harry said post match, he's a left back, and one of the best in the world, but can play almost anywhere as he's that good. He is a left back though, and will play most of his career there.

Definitely.

Even a few weeks back when people were raving about him, I felt he was running really fast in a straight line, then making a poor decision when he got to the byline.

Now he seems to be going on the outside, coming inside, and seems to be aware of what's going on around him.

Still a definite left back for me and I expect to see him there against United, with Modric moving back out to the left to accomodate Palacios.

Harry said in his post match interview that he's a left back, but he can play all over, he's that good.

+1

I bet a few right backs crapped their pants when they saw him shown inside and then rocket a right foot shot in. Give them a bit to think about!
