I think it would be intersting to see more often. I remember him coming on towards the end of the Wolves game, playing from the right in which he looked pretty good.

Ideally you need to be small, illusive, agile with quick acceleration and mighty fine close control. Bale is built for power and his straight line speed - drifting inside riding tackles weaving inside and out of players is not his game. He's become really top heavy if you look at him which vastly effects agility. Micah Richards I think it was became so built that he had no turning ability whatsoever at one point, I think Mancini got to him and basically told him to stop with the weights or atleast cut it down. Lennon can turn and dart in any direction on a sixpence, he'd be more suited to cutting in if he had any bottle whatsoever.

I'd rather judge them when they're playing in a proper league rather than dodging in and out of cones.

Needs more agility, intelligence, and strength then he can have a free role

Like Bret said, the key is agility and great balance

Riding tackles this is Bale your talking about, the one things I hate about Bale is he is a TART,someone tell him to get up and get on with it.

Bale can do anything he wants on a football pitch

There are no restrictions and you shouldn't try to put them on him.

Adam Johnson plays from the right and is inferior to Bale

The summer links to Mata and Cazorla were interesting. Wonder what Redknapp had in mind.

How on Earth is Bale illusive? He's like a frigging train. He is not agile right now, he's been hitting the weights too much. His acceleration is hardly akin to that of Lennon who goes from a standing still to top speed in two strides, it takes Bale a bit longer to get going and I just disagree with him having mighty fine close control, he knocks the ball past defenders and beats them with raw power and speed - once in full flow, not stop-start-stop-start. You limit the space you give him and you drastically limit the effect he can have on a game.

You have a target man so suggest putting a guy who puts in brilliant crosses (arguably the best in the league) from the left on the opposite wing so he can't cross the ball, that's intelligent.

Remember our goal vs. Aston Villa when VdV finished that wonder goal 2nd. Bale was attacking from the right, Lennon was on the left. So there are a few instances where Bale has shown he can do that.

I think we should have the flexibility to shift them around in order to find what works best in one particular match, not have a set formation and be rigid in saying "this is what we're doing end of".

Well remembered. That also came into my mind when this idea was raised

That goal was on the counter attack, very different scenario compared to open play.

Exactly, he had 70 yards to run into. In a general scenario with the other team having 8/9/10 players behind the ball then Bale will really struggle. He might be able to work himself a yard and deliver a cross but other than that I don't see him having much joy.

Did Harry not say he saw Bale as a left back because when he is running at defense from deep he is unstoppable, him playing left winger meant that teams were doubling up on him stopping him getting the ball and cutting down space for him to run into?

He is like a stream train on the move so maybe when he can run from deep he would be more effective? So basically I'm saying for Bale to attack better he needs to be in a more defensive position.....that makes no sense I'm going to have to cut back on the crack pipe.
