I reckon it was Real Madrid. The special one has praised Bale more than once and Man Utd haven't got big money to spend at the moment have they?

If City really wanted him they could have made an offer impossible for us to refuse.

I think city may have burnt their bridges when it comes to buying any top talent from us. It would be great too if the EPL clubs came to some kind of gentlemans agreement never to sell to them :)

That is such a false statement, they could have offered us £200million and we could have still said no. No off er is impossible to refuse especially if the player is willing to stay

Behave. £200million would pay for a third of our stadium. Of course we'd say 'yes'

Toshack is a massive ****. He managed to undo all the good work Hughes did for Wales and he's a wanker for even mentioning this where there's obviously no need to.

Totally agree. He's a total idiot. Can anybody remind me what Toshack has achieved as a manager ? 1 league title with Real and a couple of cups over 20-odd years with some big clubs.

Why they continued to give him jobs is a mystery to me. Dismantled the team spirit that Hughes had created and always seems to distance himself when HIS team are shite again. Revealing this about Bale is nothing more than an attempt to impress with ITK because nobody listens to a word he says any more

its good to see that bale signed a new contract with us when there was talk about a bid coming in. I can see him staying if we are still able to challenging in europe and in the league. But as soon as that changes he will be off, unless he is not like every other footballer.

These International managers piss me off. WTF does transfer dealings surrounding any Club player have to do with them.

Heres fat boy Toshack spouting shite, you can only imagine what advice hes giving Gareth Bale.

Then we have Clapatoni telling Keane not to leave Spurs... at a time we were trying to trade him for a better player

As they say... Shut the fack up or we'll not let you have our players for your pathetic games

A guy on bluemoon was claiming to be itk and he was saying that their top target for LB was bale and that we told them to fook off

We said:

a. He's a LW not a LB
b. He's not for sale at any price

The important thing is it went on in the background and lead to nothing. Obviously there will be interest in him, as there will with several of our players now. That's what happens as you get better. We just have to keep improving and competing at the top end of the table. That way they'll have no reason to leave.

Bale is still young anyway. So he'll be in no rush to move. He can be a real star here as he already is atm. He wont get that at a better club right now. Hopefully as he grows up, we'll be even better and more successful. So he'll still want to stay and lead us to glory.

Saying that, if Harry was England manager, he'd be saying this sort of thing all the time

Harsh on Toshack. Hughes' campaign just failed in qualification and every senior player of quality bar Bellamy announced their international retirement. The young replacements such as Bale and Ramsey etc were not getting games even in the Championship. He has tried to build a team up giving them experience.

The closest comparison is when Clive Woodward built a team to be World Champions and within two years were only slightly better than Italy in the 6 Nations.

Wales has limited resources to call on, however they now have two potentially world class players in the making (assuming Ramsey can make a successful return). How many world class players do England have? Rooney, Gerrard (at his peak but not in an England shirt) and Cashley Cole (at his peak) as for those coming through... Hart potentially and that's about it. If you look back to the early 90s there was a paucity of great players available to England. In a few years England will be staring down the barrel unless some better players start getting game time.

Seriously, there's no need for speculation. It was Man United and Levy told them where to go (finally)

I'm more interested in knowing whether it was before or after we made a cheeky enquiry over Rio Ferdinand. Was it in response to their bid, or before

Get used it fellow Yids. We are now attracting top, top talent which other Clubs will have been beaten to signing up. In addition, the young lads that we signed with potential are now coming in to prime.

We will be subjected to a lot more intense scrutiny of our capabilities of holding on to our players as they play to the world stage in the Champions League. It will be up to our Club to continue the growth of success if we want to keep these type of players.
