Bale made his debut for Southampton on April 17, 2006 in the 2–0 victory over Millwall aged 16 years and 275 days, becoming the second youngest player ever to play for the Saints, after Theo Walcott, who was 132 days younger. He joined Spurs in May 2007 for a fee that was initially a down-payment of £5 million rising to £10 million based on appearances and success but, later agreed at £7 million.

we can expect Jan Molby to call Bale a jug-eared **** publically anytime soon.Well done Gareth.
Suarez only got 2 votes apparently - that will cause another meltdown on RAWK
First hunnert million transfer maybe? Knowing DL, that's what he'd be pushing for with moneybags citeh.I do wonder if City will weigh with a huge bid. If City start showing interest wee Levy's eye will light up like a Christmas tree.
Spurs now have 9 winners of the award, same as Man United.

Oh yes. I didn't mean to suggest DL would be pushing for a deal.Interesting that, at the moment in his presser, AVB is correcting himself from last week and saying he expects Bale to stay whether we qualify for CL or not...
Maybe DL has realised the over-arching marketing and promotional beenfits of Gareth outweigh the one-off transfer fee.

I'm one of the brave minority calling bullshit on that very notion. DL has NEVER been a selling chairman. Ever. He is a pragmatist though and a great businessman.
Berbatov, Modric, Carrick. They'd all still be here had they wanted to stay. We'd also be looking to win a league title right about now, imo and would have finished top 4 more than twice in the last 6 or 7 yrs.
But I digress.
