Ronaldo over rated, what a fucking joker!

Think you best stop watching football and watch a bit of netball or ice skating.

Not sure if it's been covered in here or not, but I'll post anyway.

Bale has developed his free kick technique to emulate Ronaldo, and it's a fucking beast of a technique that really does work.

No more placement of the ball or trying to curl it ala Beckham, this is straight down the middle lacing a ball as hard as you can.

The way the new balls are , and if you've ever been a keeper when hit like that, the way the balls fly is what I can only describe as inadequate - they go where ever the fuck they like basically, almost reminiscent of the old plastic garage bought balls we had as kids.

It's a great technique, and seriously shit for any keeper - Bale has been getting nearer, and is now mastering it - he is reminding me more and more like Ronaldo to be honest with you, physique, skill, pace, power and even the free kick style.

If he stays fit, I see us getting 3rd or 4th - no exageration, he';s changed his game up, for the good.

Agreed! Hes certainly near to mastering it just needs to score goals from it I guess. When Ronaldo first started doing it he mastered the technique, but I reckon he used to just hit it and hope for the best. Now hes mastered accuracy which is just amazing.

Yes I am. For the level of hype that surrounds him I expect to see much more than he actually offers. There are several players on the Real squad alone that are better than him but will never get the same level of recognition - Alonso, De Maria, Ozil, Benzema.

Same game different player - judge for yourself.

There may be something in the above , but you don't see free kicks like that all the time...in fact ,very rarely . Theres more to it , its a skill .

Bale seemed to strike the ball with the outside of the left foot . It didn't look like a straight front of boot kick to me . He puts a weird spin on it I reckon . He runs in to kick from the side but turns his foot to hit it with the outside of the boot to spin the ball which wildly deceives Reina by bending from going to Reina's left side to veering back to the middle .

This makes Reina look the ultimate chump as he's effectively run out of the way of the shot . The only time we see that kind of confused keeper is when there is a deflection . This doesn't seem to be one . This could be a major addition to Bale's contribution (y)
