I'm looking forward to what the Association of Black Lawyers or what ever they call themselves have to say about it.

Would mind hearing Baddiels input aswell.

Black lawyers that like coin & Baddiel who can't jump? Yip I want to hear their opinion cos its going to change my mind and inform me far more than my own common sense.

I never got the whole it's OK to take the piss put of my own kind stuff.

It's very tribal and elitist. Not to mention that no one else 'of your own' sees you as their representative.

That being said, meh. He's hilariously inappropriate.

If you can't laugh at yourself then I'd hazard a guess that you have some sort of insecurity. Being confident & proud of who I am, and where I'm from I love taking the piss out of myself and my past/ people/ etc... if we can't laugh at each how can we empathise/ love/ relate with each other, its on the same yard stick.

Saying "Jumping like a Black man" isn't out of order. Saying "Takes coins like a Jew" is very much out of order.

Pretty black and white not matter what your back ground is.
How come stereotyping black people is okay but stereotyping Jews is not?

That's not what I said.

So if I was to say, "I only hire black men as I don't need ladders cos they can jump & reach the higher apples." Does jump like a black man become racist then?

That would be racial discrimination because you'd be hiring people (and therefore not hiring others) exclusively because of their race.

Baddiel won't give a shit because it's not an opportunity to have a go at Tottenham.

Not really. Same as if you were opening up a Chinese you would most likely seek out Chinese people to cook as the odds are they are more likely to be good at cooking it. Nothing racist about it.

If you saw a penny on the floor though and seeked out a Jewish person to pick it up they would most likely be offended.

I don't think any Black person would be offended if you told them they could jump really high?

one is a compliment and the other is not.
You're probably right there. however ...

Probably not. But plenty of white people would

I don't know exactly, but some white folk in the UK like to take on outrage and offence on behalf of other groups, don't they?! Makes them feel good about themselves, i think.

Exactly, like those white councillors and school governors who ban Christmas celebrations because they THINK Muslims might be offended, all this done of course without consulting any Muslims to ask if they really are

I don't think he's being intentionally racist or even malicious. It's just an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Like Cosmic said, he probably assumed it wouldn't be offensive simply because he has roots in those groups.

If I were the FA I'd be making sure my crack team of pro-active anti-semitic police are focussed on the big game tomorrow...you know...like they normally are...
