It seems the logic behind this is

He's most likely leaving Barca at the end of the season...
He might go to Another Football Club...
Spurs are Another Football Club...
2 + 2 = 576

And Spurs are looking to fill a position he would be pretty ideal for:shrug:

god that darren eales sounds like hot shit, whats he been doing at WEST BROM?!

Txiki is hated by Barca fans, they don't like his transfer policy and signings. His work with the academy is alot more minimal, I believe Liverpool have got the main Barca academy guy but I am sure he is going to struggle to get the world's st youngsters to ditch the sun, sea and sand of places like Argentina, Mexico, Spain etc for Toxteth or Bootle lol

Arry wont work under a DOF, thats a fact

Levy was actually very clear when he hired 'Arry that he wasn't scrapping the DOF system just moth-balling it for the tenure of RotKnopf. He siad that he still sees it as the way forward - not sure if they were the exact words, but pretty much.

Maybe he wants Redknapp to be his new Pleaticus.

Though I'm not sure what kind of coaches could operate under Harry.

'Arry could only become the new PleatMeister if he impregnated his own mother and became his own father:eek:mg:

I dont think DL cares what Redknapp thinks, If he throws his toys out of the pram over a new DOF, then so be it, he goes, who cares new manager will come in and life goes on.

Redknapps done nothing more or less without the DOF.

There's something here because a) with a new president who hates Cruyff, there will be massive changes at the Nou Camp b) I seriously doubt Levy has given up on the continental system

That being said, I am finding a slow admiration for the DoF. Just because we had the wrong guy doesn't mean that it's a bad system. I could see it returning after Harry retires. This may be too soon though.

But Cruyff is the mastermind behind Barcelona. When he has the most influence they win things. When he doesn't.....well think of the Gaspart years. I don't know if just getting a Barca guy is necessarily the right thing. Feels a bit like Juande.

Rosell doesnt hate Cruyff he just doesnt want him running the show. Rosell is more than capable of doing the business deals. He was a vice president of Nike and part of the campaign that got Barcelona the olympics in 1992. He has said no director of football that pep decides which players to sign. In SR's campaign team are 4 previous vice presidents and Pep Guardiolas brother.

Txiki and Laporta were the ones that didnt want Mourinho in 2008 when JM was begging for the job.

chygrnysky, ibrahimovic, caceres, hleb. txiki has git it wrong a lot recently.

Laporta I hate because he has used the club for his own political and financial gain. I know far more crap than that has been published in the press but I will keep my mouth shut.

I think people are crazy. You look at what barca were before laporta, relying on oldies like cocu and kluivert. Look at them now, on and off the pitch they are a powerhouse. The charity work they do is commendable too. All whilst playing gorgeous football. Not enough for some I suppose

this is the impression i get of barca

they are run by the supporters for the supporters, as you said very charitable, play football the right way, place a high value on seeing youth players making the grade at first team level. they also have continuity in all levels of the club with former players in key roles. i beleive their mantra is where sport meets science or something along those lines. a club that all others should aspire to.
