Think this one is dead now that we've signed Davies.
Not sure Pochettino and the club has as much against Danny Rose as the supporters.
Poch said that Davies has been signed to compete with Rose, didn't mention Benny at all.
Rose is also home grown and club trained which counts for something in squad players.

Well, if the ITK regarding Rose is to believed, will we be back in the market for another LB. On a side note, if true, what does it say about the attitude/mentality of Rose, that upon is signing a LB, he's sulking and wants out, rather than fight for the shirt...

I hadn't read the ITK yet, find it a bit hard to believe. Think it might reflect the thoughts of said ITK more than Rose himself. Would surprise me if he's not smart enough to understand that there'll always be at least one player competing for any position in a professional football team.

I'd rather he stayed to be honest, we saw the issue with having only one LB last season. I'd like to think that given the importance of the full backs in Pochettino's system, and the fact the manager is a former international calibre defender, Rose could be coached into the player his potential has previously suggested. Having the option of Davies and (a focused) Rose is good depth.
If Rose goes, we're back to square one in terms of fullback depth, and lose that home grown quota player.
Writing is on the wall for Benny though.
I'd be happy enough going into the season with
RB Walker & Naughton/Frederiks
LB Davies & Rose
With potentially Lascalles and Fryers respectively covering RCB/RB and LCB/LB.

RCB Kaboul/Chiriches/Lascalles.
LCB Vertonghen/a.n.other/Fryers.

Think he spent too long on loan to count as club trained, but definitely home grown, which is something we are lacking. Hopefully some academy players will be brought through to rectify that soon. Though not at left back, as I think the nearest possible option (Ogilvie) is more of a centre back.

I think Rose is a better player than many suggest, but Rose being smart? Yeah, okay there. (y)

He would count as club trained too, as you have until the end of the season in which you turn 21 and as his birthday is 2nd July (I believe the season officially starts 1st July) he would have had the whole 2011-12 season to accumulate (he didn't go out on loan that year) and up to that point he had already accumulated at least 34 months (maybe more depending on when he returned from loan Bristol City) so he would have made the 36 months with 10 months extra.
