I do not understand where this stuff about Stambouli is coming from, what I saw of him last season he was useless to average. So if he was a player that just doesn't train well and was a beast when he played I would understand but most matches I saw him in he looked like there was nothing to him.

I think a player needs a run of games to see his true ability, especially a heavy set player like Benji.

Its hard to pick up the pace and movement with intermittent appearances.

Anyway, we may never know,

just another debacle of a signing

If we start selling all our players after their first bad season, we'll never get anywhere ... imagine selling Chadli last summer.

anyone else thinks that partnership of Capoue+Stambouli will tore apart at least half of the premier league teams.

Well, we're not. It's only Stambouli we're selling after one bad season. All the others we've sold we've had for a couple now and ones like Paulinho and Chiriches and Capoue haven't really shown much improvement or anything.

With regards to Stambouli, I think it's a fitness thing. Seemed like there were a lot of games last season were Stambouli was sent out to get fit on the pitch even if he wasn't in the squad. I remember finding that odd when I went to the West Ham game back in Feb and I believe that's happened a few times. So would assume it's more to do with fitness and as such training etc... than it is to do with form or quality.

I think it offers a strong, solid base but you'd be in desperate need of creativity from elsewhere playing that CM2.

I think there is politics at play here, Poch wanted MS gets Stamboulli.

Now would Poch play a player that could possibly negate the need for a player he covets?

I don't see this at all, whenever ive seen stambouli play ive largely been underwhelmed with him.why would you want him in the side, not offered much

I think Watford are getting a very solid midfield on the cheap,
that as long as they have strikers who score enough,
will make sure they aren't relegated.
More solid than the bottom 10 in the league, imo

I remember Sandro's first few months with us...he didn't exactly impress much. Went on to become a massive player for us the following season

Will be a good signing for Watford, not good enough for us unfortunately. Seems like a great lad and a hard worker just not up to par quality wise. I think that's evident for all to see as it was clear how hard he was working and still struggled to even make squad most of the time. Good deal for all involved I think if it goes through.

he's a fiery sort of player, keep him and give him a run of games.... he works and plays hard

It's sad that he doesn't want to go, I think he'd genuinely love to force his way in to our first team. Part of me hopes any potential deal falls through and he gets another shot next season, but I fear he wont get any playing time.

I like him, but a move away would be wise.

Shame, I was never disappointed when he played. Will be irritating if we just ship him out without giving him a decent chance only to sign some dross.
