IF the window was not a week away, if Rose wasn't back and hopefully match fit very soon, than i would consider Benny back, but the window is open and we do have money, why go back to Benny? we can do better than that can't we ?

Benni has showed himself to be as honest a footballer as you’ll find. Doesn't 'kiss the badge' like some. Tells it like it is.

Just one thing: I saw Sandro kiss the badge the other day, and for the first time in what must be a bloody decade - I actually believe the gesture.

Can we have more elaboration on this suggestion that he organised a mutiny whilst playing for a different club?
He was stowing away spare kegs of powder and pilfering the small arms locker in anticipation of a crewman being lashed one time too many. Then he could pounce, and he and his teammates could live happily ever after in the Carribean with lots of rum and free love...

I very much doubt Benoit lead a mutiny, but really, I would not give a flying fuck if he danced on a picture of AVB's face. The guy tried to ruin his Tottenham career.

Who cares? really?

Bardsley actually laughed on twitter when Sunderland lost their opening game, such was his respect for Di Canio. When Di Canio left he was straight back in the team and has been their best player.

There's lessons to be learned here - don't cut off your nose to spite your face, just because you don't get on with a particular player. That's why Ferguson put up with Roy Keane for so long. He knew he was a ****, but he was a **** that got shit done for his team.

If only recalling Benny would mean that Jan doesn't have to cover the LB spot it should be our #1 priority imo.

With the new regime under way...or at least the old regime gone there is alot of talk regarding recalling loan players etc. Although Ade had a great day today I wasn't and am not convinced that his reinstatement is good in the long run, however he is class and I can see the merits short term. However BAE is a different prospect, I know he is a fan favourite in some quarters but I can't help but feel like this guy led a mutiny against AVB and instead of maintaining professional standards was quick to cheer away spurs losses, I don't want him back, I would rather play rose till the summer with verts as alternative, then buy in a top quality LB. Think for the sake of long term harmony the trouble makers need to move on

I used to love Benny but the twitter post("great game tonight") and pic did it for me and now think hes a clown so get rid. Fact is that post was made an hour after the game had finished and between them they were holding 5 fingers up - even if that was an innocent mistake then he is obviously as thick as a whale omelette so we should get rid of him on those grounds!. Don't care what he thought of AVB, he was disrespecting everyone at the club so he can do one.

Hear hear.

Avb was a grade a ****, from the outside it looked like he had zero management skills and possibly tactics

Yet he got our highest ever PL points tally (with Bale) last season and was ahead of this (without Bale) this season. Doesn't really say a lot for the rest of them does it?. He must have had something.

I got slated for saying that last week but some on here are naïve enough to believe otherwise. Before last week I liked the fact that Benny is a bit of a character (the game certainly needs them) but never reallye rated him as a player. I believe Rose has the potential to be a whole lot better.

Your being naive calling others naive when you don't have proof that it was a coincidence or not. Seeing as you weren't with them. For all the love Benny has shown the club attending games with supporters and tweets etc seems very out of character IMO.

I think him not playing for us recently and his 'comedy persona' has given certain sections of our fanbase a rather rose tinted view of how good he is.

Don't get me wrong, he can be quality but he is also quite inconsistent. I'd pick Rose and Vertonghen over him every time and I'm not sure he would have been happy being third choice even if AVB didn't have a problem with his attitude.

I'd recall him now primarily because I think Vertonghen needs to be playing CB as much as possible and he could do a job as backup to Rose. But again, I wonder if he'd be happy as a backup / cup player.

Many saying he may be back up to Rose...
Knowing him, he will do his best to excel and claim that first spot at LB.
Can only be a good thing for the team.
