No, because he is 1 year younger than Walker and absolutely nowhere near his level - as shown by Walker and even Naughton both excelling in the Championship.

I wasn't advocating replacing Walker, I was saying to give Smith a chance over bringing in Coleman (as you were suggesting).

Not to say Coleman isn't an excellent right-back, he is.

But Smith should be given the chance around the first team squad.

And he obviously does not train hard enough or else AVB would not have had a problem with him. We are better off selling him to QPR on Jan 1 so he doesnt return to the club.

Hey, if we were able to convince Coleman to come here, and be able to rotate him and Walker, we'd have right-back nailed down for years. But there's no way we could keep both Walker and Coleman happy. Great player, but we just don't need another real quality right-back bought in. If we get one through the academy (e.g. Smith), he'd probably be more likely to remain happy even on the bench.

Fully disagree with what you are saying. We definitely need Benny back. I think you are overreacting when you say he led a mutiny against AVB...more like he misbehaved slightly. As much as I like AVB he didnt help our chances by side lining our main left back, who would have helped strengthen our defence loads if he had stayed in squad, at very least this would have freed up Vertonghen to play in centre of defence rather than on left.
