I think he would be a great signing blatantly hates the goons since he left and you could tell that watching the rovers vs scum game last season when he was flying into tackles and getting in Lehmanns face.

also i can back up the rumours he is in Spain as a mate saw him in Puerto Banus last weekend. By chance Bale was there as well but they werent together.
There is a photo of bentley and bale together at linekers bar in puerto banus on another thread so although might not be together on holiday certainly met up hopefully to discuss their futures at WHL

:beer:Bentley will do for me. I don't care who he played for in the past. He just used Ar5ena1 as a stepping stone to us.......maybe?. If we sign that is. If we don't then he is just another ex Gooner.

I've got no problems about him being ex-Arsenal -

It never bothers me which club a player has come from per se, it sometimes matters why they signed, but it usually/always comes down to how they perform

We've sold a lot of good players to the Arsenal and got shit in return (apart from Pat's Second Coming, of course!). Other old-timers won't need reminding of Laurie Brown and David Jenkins. The slightly less ancient will remember Rohan Ricketts,

Footballers are professionals. Let's not be infantile about this.

I guess it helps that he has played for another club for a few years, and his appearances were few and far between at ar5ena1.

I might be kicking myself here, but is it such a big deal if he supports the rival team if he does a great job for us?

Iversen supported Liverpool( I belive) and he did a good job for us.

It'll always depend on the player - if they're an average player, or someone who comes to us from direct from them and shows no form then yeah, they'll get more stick than someone from elsewhere, but lets be honest, if they play well and earn us wins, who gives a toss where they trained?

I'd have Van Percy and Fiberglass in a heartbeat.

no i don't think he'd be hated..he was just a prodigy at the scum and as you say, made himself at Blackburn..if anything it'l be great if he's amazing and arsenal rue the loss of a great player...but he is english so they're probably not fussed!
So fingers crossed he's with us when we take over as number one north london club!!
