You're excused.

Virtue is its own reward.

Which are? I'll refrain from saying 'Who?' As that might sound sound rather rude. Which sports do they compete in, as I don't follow them? I'm assuming they are world champions, that's why you've listed them.

Actually I expected this kind of reaction as Britain is not a place known for it's sporting activities.I chosen them in comparison with Berba sort of athlete-great professionals with great personalities who mean to the Bulgarian society. They all are much more successful than him.

Your posts to me are a contradiction and quite baffling, so the discussion is stymied. From your reply to Gabi, you must be from Blagoevgrad, where Berba left as a 17 year old, and he's a few years older than you, so I wouldn't imagine you are privvy to his innermost thoughts or a close friend. But nice to chat to you, thankfully most of the other BG posters I've come across on the net are considerably more pleasant and helpful.

Perhaps my limited knowledge of English prevent me of expressing myself in the best possible way but I don't know what is "contradiction and quite baffling" to you

Yes I'm from Blagoevgrad and used to live in the same building as Berba,he is close friend to everyone  my grandpa also named Dimitar used to say - "Mitko is so nice, nobody knows him with bad,he will even give a way to ant"

Would that be HoofHearted?

No, it was an old schoolfriend of Bent's, this chap:

snuffy2007 Posted on gg 04-28-2008, 20:15

i was at saturdays game, and belive me or not, im a old school friend/best friend during school years of benty, we went into the groundat 1;40 (as i took my wife for the 1st time) i heard someone call me
it was darren bent, he was at the cornor flag of north and west stand talking to his mum and dad, he called us over, said hello etc etc, and he told me he wasnty happy, he wants to play football, but said it was hard to come on as a sub, and make a impact, but he did say berbs wasnt happy, he said the last month or so he has drifted away from everyone and that saturday he left the players lounge where they have lunch 20 mins before everyone else and was just walking around the pitch with his chin in his chest
now i know there has been plenty said on this, but this is from a 1st team player, benty did say if berbs goes, he would stay and hopefully play football, but he didnt know what would happen next year if he stays
and he signed his shirt for me after as well which was a nice touch!!!

HH confirmed on COYS, where it was copied, that is indeed where Bent's parents sit at WHL.

Im 99% convinced Berbs is off.At least he would appear to be going abroad though,if the fact that he has just bought a new left hand drive car is to be believed....

He's always driven a left hand drive car over here, his black Mercedes. He mentioned this in an interview as long ago as last Summer to Eva Magazine. He hasn't recently bought one to take abroad. His old car from Leverkusen he gave to his Father, and the new model he bought when he came here was the most expensive item he's ever bought.
He may be cool, but he's certainly not flash.

Well i'm convinced he's off now and the deal has already been done with Barca. The supposed injury in training friday confirmed it for me (he didn't travel with the team to Reading)

I sincerely hope the same is not true of Lennon. But I doubt it, as Ramos has expressed publicly his wish to keep him.

When the official website did not even acknowledge Berba's 100th appearance for Spurs against Bolton last weekend, I thought something fishy was up.
Usually they always mention these things. It's a shame it went by unnoticed.

Another thing I noticed last night was Eto'o again being subbed by Barca after the hour mark, every game i've seen lately of Barca's he's either been subbed or left out. Don't want to get there trade player injured perhaps.

Or maybe he's playing crap and if we do swap it's bad news for us?

But whos to say he will cut it at Spurs, Shevchenko didnt at Chelski and imho he is better than eto'o, personally i dont think we are going to sign him, but if, and its a big if, he did sign im not sure if he will be a success to be honest. Then you have the Keane factor, will he partner him or Bent, im not sure if eto'o is the perfect partner for keane, his best season goal tallies have been playing alongside Berbs, so i would be looking at a player in the same mould, like a Sheringham. I could be totally wrong, but i cant see Eto'o arriving, in fact i think its a smoke screen.

I don't want to ruin the party but this is a popular Bulgarian saying, toto84 translated it literally :D
Today i read something strange in one site - that Berbatov refused to be on the new Spurs photo for the next season. Is this from the British newspaper because i found it only in one site which was surprising.
Btw, lily_lane, this part that there is no other Bulgarian sports stars was a bit rude, i think that many people don't know about Albena Denkova, but you do - just because you are interested in this sport. This is the case with all other sports. For example, at the moment volleyball here is nearly as popular as football because the national team is extraordinary good. In the same time, people from teh USA who don't care about football may not have heard about our European stars and clubs. It is very objective..

The part in the paper said that neither him or Ledley King were taking part in the unveiling, though I have also read that no players are. Note, they only came to the conclusion that Berba was leaving, made nothing on the King fact.

The story originated on this forum actually, a few weeks ago, that Berba had refused to take part in the new kit launch - which is tomorrow at 9.30pm, 11.30pm your time, shown live on the THFC website free via Spurs TV online.

As journos often read the forums (it has been repeated as an ITK story on other messageboards) they have made it into a *story*, but that's not to say there isn't an element of truth to it. I mean, why would he want to take part in the new season's kit launch if he's planning to leave?

I've just read the article(i usually don't read such speculations, it is pointless). The source that was quoted was "The People" - some British magazine/newspaper. however, the Ledley King part was missed but it states that the new kit launch will be next week. Not very reliable as i can see

The People also said that QPR's 'huge announcement' yesterday would be the unveiling of Zinedine Zidane as their new manager.

It turned out to be a new club logo ... :-|

Not at all. Your English is in another stratosphere to my Bulgarian, as I'm struggling to learn the language......very badly. :eek:mg:

Apart from the few Turkish words you use which I recognize, I've never come across a more difficult and impossible to remember European language, with many unpronounceable words......not forgetting the cyrillic alphabet ofcourse......but I'll keep practising, and hope to see you and Berbatov on the Black Sea Coast one day, if not in Blagoevgrad.

The People is a Sunday tabloid newspaper, so it must've been in yesterday's edition, and been picked up by some websites today. As you say, they're not even au fait with the kit launch date - info freely available on the THFC website if only these journos did their research.

Sadly, the other forums, like COYS and gg, have long threads today with a misleading Goal.com and HarryHotspur blog story quoting a few of Berba's Standart translated Max Interview quotes, as him "speaking informally to Bulgarian reporters over the weekend".
I've posted that it was taken from the Max interview given several weeks ago during the BPOTY visit to Sofia, but it hasn't unfortunately stopped alot of flak going his way from people just lashing out at an innaccurate *story*.

I'm afraid some of our fans are deeply immature people.

The People is a Sunday scandal-sheet and about as unreliable as it comes, even lower on the evolutionary scale than The News of the World. But as far as football coverage goes, even the 'quality' papers such as the Times and Guardian can't be considered reliable. Just over two years ago, when the Carrick speculation was at its height, we had 'journalists' who were and remain Manchester United stooges feeding the frenzy, prompted by 'leaks' from their friends in the Old Trafford press office.

I think that most of them are taking "safety precautions" because they want to be ready if something happens. Is you hate somebody / or if you find many shortages in him - it is much easier not to care about his leaving... This is the reason why i've stopped reading forums for a while - although you think you know something or try to say it, very few people will understand you. And after all, let them think what they want - there are much more important things in life.
PS: you should head for the seaside this year, because, as i've read, Berbatov intends to "hide" there during the whole summer

There certainly are. Good advice Gabi, thanks.
Stay in touch though, I shall be here, so thank heavens for SC, as it's the best forum, where the people are mature, and you can have a laugh too.
