More goals than Keane - more assists than Keane - more crucial roles in build up to goals (pre-assists) than Keane

Keane was scoring goals when we were shit the first half of the season

and

Except Keane was, it's gone get over it.

Hi AP :) trust me I'm well over it - I'm just basically coming on to say that I and all the other who voted for Berbs as player of the season were right

I won't go as far as B_C in my evaluation of Keane - but the fact of the matter is that RK isn't at it he's way more of a liability than Berbs or Bent - he just doesn't have physical poer or pace - he's either a wizard or he ain't - i like Robbie but he's no Berbs- hence their respective market valuations

agreed :) it was held too early - - but even when it was held to me Berbs still had more overall product than Keane - and of course is a better player - I'm sorry but to me it was sentimentality that won RK the award - fair enough - but I didn't agree with it - I don't agree with and I bet by the end of the season I still won't agree with it

It's obvious attitude played a part in the result and when fans are voting it will always be a major factor.

well of course no one is saying that Keane is or has this season been better than Berbatov... But it is the SPURS player of the year. I think most of us know in our heart of hearts that Berby is off and therefore Keane was the obvious choice. I will miss Berbs so much....

I am very, very tempted to lock this because frankly the decision was made by the member of SC that voted and the fact you suggest quite arrogantly that they were wrong is quite insulting.

All I will say is in our first 14 matches this season Berby scored 2 goals and Keane had scored 7. Now it all too easy to look at what is happening now but when the chips were truly down early in the season only two players stood out for me and one of then was Keane and the other certainly wasn't Berbatov and that in my opinion is why he won player of the season.

exactly AP :) people thought that Keane's running around and waving his arms in an nimated way was more impressive than Brbs throwing his arms in the air and sulking - neither are any use - but lots prefer the former

today was a classic case - Berbs at one pint gave away possession - the analyst (trevor francis and indeed the commentator went into one and said Berbs should chase back - but he had no chance of getting the ball

Keane lost possession and Wigan scored - I didn't hear one bit of criticism about Keane - but his was by far the costliest of the two mistakes

No it wasn't held too early. You both clearly have no idea how much time and effort goes into making that sort of thing happen and the fact we have to get a date to go and present the award from Spurs. So it not just a case of setting up a poll, there is a lot more to it than that.

lock it if you want nidge :) what's arrogant about me saying the truth that Berbs is a better player than Keane and should have been player of the year - are the majority always right? are we not allowed to criticise prime ministers and presidents then?

I've already said I'm over it - I just disagreed with it then and I disagree with it now

nidge I acept the logisitcs so retract my agreement that it was held too early - I still stand by my opinion RK shouldn't have won it - Berbs is the better player overall and this season so he should have won it - and it's no wonder that Berbs is likely to leave given the lack of support he gets from so many spurs fans

That bit in bold just comes across as arrogant in my opinion. Not sure if it was intended or not, probably not. It's just the way it read to me.

Yes we are allowed to criticise our PM but, not sure what that has to do with this. It was a poll and at the time Keane won I don't see what there is to be critical of?

yeah fair enough dg :) but why dress it up - you get people actually trying to defend it like Keane is/was better - he wasn't/isn't - it just irritates me - but hey that's life :)

well because you're saying - tell me if I'm wrong that if Keane got the most votes no-one can say the voters were worng - it's the argument that Bush Blair Thatcher etc will often use or their supporters

what I'm saying is us 'Berbatities' (swap that for Conservative Democrat Labour) were right -

if you think think that's arogant - fair enough - I think it's the truth
