^^True. But if he was really committed to Spurs, wouldn't one suppose he'd of come out by now and told his agent to shut up, or simply eff him off? Lets suppose he does want to go. Why does he let his agent do all his talking? All Berba ever says is, 'I am here at the mo' or 'the Spurs fans are great to me,' well, if 'you're here at the mo' and 'we're so great,' why does he see fit to treat us like ****s? HE should come out NOW and either commit his future to Spurs, or tell us HIMSELF he wants to leave. It really isn't that hard. I mean, Klinsmann did! And we all still love him!!
You think it'd be better for Spurs if Berbatov came out and publicly said what we all know he thinks, that he wants to leave?
You think that'd improve our ability to command a large fee?
why would a guy from Bulgaria with no ties to england, let alone spurs, have the urge to stay with us for the rest of his contract/career?
He's going. End of. His agent is touting him about, doing his job. Is he a wanker for doing this? Probably not. More than likely, Berba is giving him free reign to do what he wants to get him a lucrative move. Sometimes fans forget that to a footballer, its just a job, not a passion/love affair like for a fan.
If he does go, i only hope we get a skip full of dough and he moves abroad.
It will hurt and we will all be gutted, but to think he is an innocent in all of this agent talk is very naive.
Just enjoy him while hes here, cos it could be a long time before we see someone of his quality at the lane again
Fuk him. He only cost 10.9 and merchandising, profile, league finish prize money and acculimated cup gains easily pays for that a few times over. Keep him sat in the ressies for 2 years for all i care. then he'll be 29.. have had no football for 2 years. Who's gonna fulfill his CL dream then? Fenebache? Rangers? pah
I suspect if we hold out, Berabtov for the sake of his own public image, his ability to perform for his country and to impress managers from teams he wants to play for, he'll play and try to play well.
