Not all these goals are at the Lane but two world class goals are.

7th January 1978. Hoddle advanced alone down the right of Bolton's half, no-one near him, even in that half.

Almost level with the edge of the penalty area, still going along the touchline, hooks the ball from an impossible angle over the keeper's head into the net. Utterly amazing.

Countless Hod specials, maybe the Man U volley shades the Forest one, but there were several others too.

In terms of best memory and wildest goal celebration then Robbos equalizer v Anderlecht and Parks save of course.

In the all seater era, I loved VdVs against Inter at home I think it was, slipped in by Modric, and Harry's derby goals especially the header from that belting Bentaleb cross.

Coys.

Not sure if any of them are genuine contenders for the best ever at the Lane, but I think we need to take a step back and appreciate how many absolute worldies that a certain Mr Defoe scored for us...

He scored two brilliant goals in a pre-season friendly against Porto - Edgar Davids' first game at the Lane. Sun was shining and it was a fantastic day out. Can't seem to find a video of them though, does anyone remember what I'm talking about?

He scored a cracker against City when we won 3-1 too if I remember correctly.

Not Defoe, but Lamela vs United last season was pretty decent.

There's something about the third goal scored by Berba in our 6-4 win against Reading that I absolutely love.

He was some player.

Kanoute's goal v Everton was the best goal i've seen live at the Lane. That one and Danny Rose v the Scum.

So many great goals I'm lucky enough to have witnessed live at WHL.

Carr v Utd
Klinsmann v Everton
Anderton and Ginola ( both v Leeds)
Kanoute v Everton
Rose v Arsenal

I'm sure there were many I saw in the late 80's, but my middle aged brain is getting forgetful.

One that hasn't been mentioned though is a Huddlestone goal in the EL. Bentley took a corner deliberately aiming for Hud on the edge of the box and he volleyed it in.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned King's header vs Arsenal for sheer volume and the power of it into the corner.

Danny Rose agIn the scum.

I was behind the goal. It was hit with such ferocity I ducked.

Then went mental.

So many great goals being mentioned in here. And so many from the nineties and early noughties when we were bang average. It's reminding me why I loved supporting Spurs even though we weren't competing, and it's showing me that despite it all I'd change absolutely nothing about our last twenty odd years or so.

We have been blessed with some wonderful wonderful footballers. Sheringham, Klinsmann, Ginola, Anderton, Berbatov, Keane, Defoe, Bale, Modric, VDV, And so many more.

Sunday is going to be emotional.
