I was lucky enough to see Hoddle from the very beginning. I honestly think he is the reason why Platini dislikes the English so much as he was always the third name mentioned after Maradona and Hoddle.
Jennings was everything a goalkeeper should be, I even saw him catch a shot one handed once. Just what would that do to the confidence of a striker?
Gazza was World class, as was Klinnsman who's partnership with Sheringham was sublime.
King is the best I've ever seen, inany shirt let alone Spurs, as a CB and Ginola probably the best winger I've ever seen too. For me he cemented his place as a true Spurs legend when he won player of the year as we were fighting relegation. Shut a lot of people up who thought he never had the stomach for a fight.
Every one of those players had one thing in common, pure class. The sort that had you holding your breath in expectation of something special..... And rarely did they ever let you down.

Talking about Jennings he was the best keeper i have ever seen, i will never forget being at Anfield and seeing him save TWO penaltys. I have a picture of the second save and even the Ref was clapping him.

Hoddle - and he was so good the England team should have been built around him

Hoddle.
Living in york all my life and being a spurs supporter by personal choice - I didn't know another spurs fan til I was 25 - I've not seen that many games but my dad took me to elland road to watch a dull 0-0 in December 82.
The only thing I really remember is Hod getting his shirt torn and coming out in the second half in a plain yellow one with no number on it - something that would never happen these days.

Clemence is the best keeper I've seen.

Although Parks in the 84 final was a Ledge.

Hoddke for me.

Honourary mention for Ossie too. I love Modric and think he's one of the best at what he does but Ossie was better.

Its tough

Ability wise its so close between Ginola and Berbatov, I mean we were pretty shit when Ginola won player of the year and I think selling him was when I really started to think Graham was a twat having given him a chance at first. Berbatov is more recent and my memory is better here, the guy was just pure brilliance and regardless of the way he left and the obscurity he has wondered into at Man Utd, he was a genius at Spurs.

I must say thought commitment wise...Gary Mabbutt was Spurs through and through, a true classy gent, and really typified why I supported Spurs.

Also .....Klinsmann! Incredible that he played for us and he was just a goal machine!

Will never find another player like this, and so glad he is still very much involved with club.

Also admired Stevie P - true gent gave his all for the cause

There have been so many truly great players that it's almost impossible to list a top ten, let alone a best one. But here's my top three.
3. Greaves - best goalscorer I have ever seen and am ever likely to see
2. Hoddle - best 'pure footballer'
1. Mackay - a supremely talented player who was the heart and soul of every team he played for. If we had had him this season, we might have won the league. He was that good, and had that kind of effect on the rest of the team.

Ginola, King, Berbatov, Mabbutt, Sheringham.

Have also seen Klinsmann, Gazza and a few others when we played DC United! Not exactly in their prime though, well Jurgen could still play:)

For my time probably Berbatov, or King. Caught some of Klinsmann and Ginola as well, but not enough to justify saying that they were the best players i've ever seen pulling on a Spurs shirt.
