Plus add-ons possibly - like minimum league games and maybe international recognition.

I wonder how far he will be off the first team? He has already broken through at Championship level, it even sounded like Palace wanted to build a team around him.

I would think someone who is ready to play first team Championship football will be too good for youth football and possibly reserve league football on a long term basis as it will do little to nothing to develop their game.

Will he be loaned? will he be in and around the first team squad (get the odd run out etc)

Im sure he will train with the first team as it is interaction with that standard of player that will help to improve him.

Im very keen to see us develop young players into good first team players the way Wenger and co have done at Arsenal recently.

2m plus add ons for a lad of his supposed potential would be a great deal (i say supposed because ive never seen him play).
would give him till january to settle in at club get to know people etc and then see if we can loan him out for remainder of season although may be too soon to do it in his first season but unless he is unreal he wont make 1st team for couple of seasons so give him 1st team footie somewhere

He said he'd be training with the first team, but I expect he'll be playing in the reserves or academy.

Modric, Parrett and Bostock as our midfield trio :shifty:

Just some news I heard from a mate in regards to Parrett, its to be taken with a pinch of salt as my mates a bit of a big time charlie and worse than that a gooner. He works as a football coach and one of his boys went to spurs.

Apparently Parrett has become a massive big time charlie and is being paid stupid amounts of money and has no problem flashing it about. He's always on the piss and recently had to come home from Zante after 2 days as he got a kicking after getting all lairy out there.

Am i the only one that fears that we're gonna get hammered (relatively speaking) on this one...

It was 2 and a bit for Routledge a few years ago, inflation + plus football inflation on top of that. not to mention how much Jordan bemoaned the price last time. I can see 4m + on this one.

ggod point Triks - and we wouldn't want to pull out of the deal after all the shenanigans that's gone on

However it may be we would if the price was too high-

then what happens - he's a free agent? - and we can sign him anyway after such and such a time? - don't quite know how these things work

If this is in anyway true that would be very disappointing, he has the chance of a lifetime to make it as a professional footballer at the highest level. He musn't throw that away. Hopefully if he does have an attitude problem he can sort it out and quickly.

if the tribunal says a stupid amount can we refuse to pay it? I assume the club can just say they don't want him

I think agreeing to go to tribunal is a contract of sorts. Anyway even if it's isn't I really can't see us pulling out no matter what the fee. Levy would know that the negative rep of pulling out on this young lad would be far more damaging to us than getting stung for more more than he thinks.

whatever we pay for him it will seem like pennies if he becomes half as good as he is expected to

a palace mate of mine told me just today that no doubt in his mind bostock will become a major england international
