We'll be saving so much on wages once we shift Paulinho, Capoue, Ade, Soldado, Kaboul - having replaced them with academy products on 20-30k max. We could afford it, that's for sure.

Any day of the week.
Won't happen, but I would love to have Bale back in any one of those 3 positions behind kane. Alongside Eriksen that would be sumptuous.

Shame it won't happen though.

I hope to whatever god exists that he never goes to Manchester united, the press have been going gung ho for it though haven't they and the TW isn't even open yet.

Never happen in a million years, even if they were prepared to sell him this summer they'd be looking for a price well north of 50 million - so we're hardly going to be in the mix lol.

And even in the most unlikely event they decided to sell for less, I really don't think he'd be worth it. We're building a team that tries just as hard without the ball as it does with it. A massively talented player but one that could affect our collective dynamic IMO.

I've watched Bale quite a bit this season, he's lazy as fuck without the ball. What sort of example would that set to the rest of our young squad with Bale swanning around - if he doesn't put it in for Madrid, why the hell would he put in the hard yards for wee Tottenham?

True, but whenever I have seen Ronaldo play he does the same... it might not be Bale's temperament, but the style Ancelotti wants (I am not sure that is true, but its a discussion point).

We do need impact players up front and Bale would be a massive upgrade on any of the front 3 in that regard (behind Kane).
RM also still owe us a boat load of cash for Bale, so in that regard its feasible. But its more a question of Bale probably not wanting to go backwards and admit "defeat", let alone wages.

At least if he went to a club like Man UTD, City or a Chelsea (yuck), he could make it look like a sideways move and maintain wages.

It won't happen and even if it did there's no guarantee he'd be as good as he was because so much has changed now with Spurs.

He wanted to live his dream and he is, even if it's sometimes a bit of a nightmare for him. The same thing happened to Robbie Keane, his dream move didn't live up to his expectations either.

The grass isn't always greener on another pitch. I hope HarriKane realises that already.

If Bale returned, both Kane and Eriksen would become redundant. When he started to show his talent, he was used as a left winger and assisted the team, once AvB gave him his new role to be honest Bale stopped assisting the team in the same way.

Don't get me wrong it was great to watch, but with today's squad it wouldn't help if he came back playing solo. If he was to come back and play the role as a winger, and team player like when him VdV and Modric played, we would be a team to be feared

Even if we could afford him I think we should move on. Find a new supastar and worship them. I remember him fondly but I don't want him back.

And Modric too. Let's not fuck about if we're talking pipe dreams. They can have Ade as a part exchange.

In a heartbeat I'd have Bale back...if there was any small chance of this happening I'd hope we would at least enquire.

He was loved her and played amazing football.

I'd be gutted to see him play for any other team in the Prem.

Lets look at it from another direction - say Bale had never played for us, Real snapped him up from Soton, and now he's not fotm he's become available. Real have told us the asking price is ~£50m (considering that in the real world they are into us for several tens of millions still), would you honestly turn down the chance to sign a player who is, arguably, the best of his generation, in a position that we currently rotate Townsend & Lamela?

I'd prefer us to move on Townsend (i did say i thought his form was nothing more than a purple patch and we should've shipped him last window, but many of you disagreed) and the rest of the under-performing players and took a punt on filling that left side with some actual pace, with a player who has a great deal of experience in the premier league (something which often trips up players coming here - look at Solly, scored for fun until he came to this league).

We need a left winger, we need pace, we need more creativity - he ticks these boxes and so much more. Forget he used to wear our shirt, he is still a top caliber player and that is what people expect us to be aiming at in the transfer market.

I would to love see Bale back at spurs. I still love the guy.

BUT

Even if he wanted to join us. We can't afford his wages. We can't afford his fee.

So it's pointless even talking about.

Gotta laugh at the people saying they don't wan't Bale back. Whether the context of that laugh is pity or bewilderment is another question
